Hey my name is Jeremiah and I am new to the traditional world of archery. I have enjoyed shooting longbows and the few recurves I have shot. I received a 1955 BEAR KODIAK a few years back for a old family friend. The bow has been hanging on the wall for everyone to see. I decided I want to see if the bow was safe to shoot and had Mr. Joel Smith take a look at it. The bow looked to be in great shape, so I got a string made for it. We put the string on everything looked good, pulled the bow about 14" back let it down, after a few times the gentleman pulled back close to 24"-26" and my heart dropped. The end of the limb tip twisted slightly. I don't know who was more upset me or the gentleman who was helping me. I would like to try to get the bow fixed so I can shoot/hunt with it. Should I just hang this bow up for everyone to see and find another one or try to get this one fixed. I have been reading on here and Google that a twisted limb may be repaired. Thank you for any help or advice.
