I was wondering who has tried the Skookum glove and the Duraglove from 3Rivers? I have always used the Damascus gloves because I need to feel the string/anchor clearly, and I don't shoot heavy bows (45-50lbs), but they wear out quickly and maybe don't give quite enough finger protection for the amount of shooting that I do. What about these other options, and maybe that Barta glove, too? Which one gives the best combination of feel and finger protection for the weight bows I shoot?
I use and like the Dura-Glove. I shoot 62# and have never had a problem w/ sore fingers. The finger-tip material is slick and allows great string feel.
I used to use the Damascus myself, but the Dura is on it's 3rd. year. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
I've been shooting a Dura-glove for 2 yrs. and like it very much.I shoot 50-55 lbs. and it gives me a good feel for the string
Dura Glove is really good. I prefer the cordura finger tips. Good feel and slick.
I just got the "Alaska" glove with the cordovan finger tips. It is great for reallyheavy bows. Keeps the fingers from going as numb.
I second Raging Water's praise for the Alaska "Super Glove". I've shot mine for about a year now. I shoot in the 50# range, and the slick cordovan leather finger tips give me a great release. When I got it I wondered whether it was worth the money, but it has been for me. Just my two cents, of course :thumbsup:

The cordovan Super Glove from Alaska Bowhunting is my favorite and wears like iron. Great release, but maybe thicker than you need for 45-50#. Also have the Dura-Glove; good string feel and seems to wear pretty well. It's a really personal thing and you need to try as many as you can to decide.
If your only shooting 40-50# bows, the Dura glove is perfect. I have one that is 4-5 years old and is still going strong. It even went through the washer and dryer when I left it in my pocket. I have a second one, the only reason I bought it is so I have a spare.
I shoot around 60#, and have no problems. Great glove.
I shoot meduium weight bows 50-56lbs and like the Neet FG-2H calf skin glove. Gives me great feel of string and smooth release. Best glove ive used besides the Duraglove another winner.

Dura Glove lets you feel the string with more than adequate finger protection, very good release and once broken in it lasts for a long time. Great price also.

I have both the Dura Glove and the ABS Super Glove. I shoot around 50# and use a clicker. The cordovan on the ABS glove seems to let me pull through the clicker than the Dura glove. They are both very nice, and for overall comfort, I would give the nod to the Dura glove.

I have a super glove. It was real stiff when new, but now it has a good amount of string feel. More than the big shot. It takes a while to break in the tips.
I tried the Skookum but got real numb finger tips. I shoot the ABS Super glove now. Takes about two weeks of shooting to get comfortable but lasts a long time. I like it so much I bought a back up and got it shot in and a brand new back up to the back up ! I used to go through 1-2 deer skin gloves a year. I'm on three years with my first Super glove.

I don't still have the big shot, sorry; sent it to someone on Tradgang who likes them. Sounds like the Duraglove is the one people like best, but 3Rivers says the Skookum is for light bows (more than the other glove). I really like the Damascus gloves, but they wear out real quick and my fingers are getting a bit sore. Thick gloves also don't allow me to find my anchor point, which drives me crazy. I guess I'll just try both, what the heck. Thanks for all the responses, Paul.

I shoot a Dura Glove, In fact just shot with it today, Shot alot (about 150 arrows) fingers were sore, but really.... i shot way too much.... A great glove really slick.....BTW I shoot a 52# Bob Lee, and will be shooting a Big Jim 67# with it.....
Ron (and dog): thanks, but I've tried to shoot tabs and I just can't get comfortable with them. Plus, they slap the h@#$ out of my lip! Sounds like the Duraglove is worth a try; I guess I can always buy 6 Damascus gloves a year like always if it doesn't work.
I have a dura glove on its second year and I also shoot a lot. I did cut the palm part off because its hot down here and it was starting to smell like a goat.....RC
