For whatever reason I've been fighting this horrible lack of wanting to shoot...it just isn't there this year. But tonight I decided I needed to send some arrows down range...Wow did it feel nice and I found a new friend.
I've shot my Apex Predator Cumberland maybe a dozen times before tonight but wasn't trying to really concentrate on form just see how it shoots. Tonight it was all business and this thing handles it like a dream. First thing I noticed since it was the second bow I shot tonight was the total lack of noise...if my watch didn't rattle on my wrist I wouldn't have heard anything but my arrow hit the target. Second it seemed fast but I'm not after that so I didn't put much thought into that. But third it just seemed to love my Axis 400's with 150 grain points and 100 grain brass adaptors.

This thing simply rocks! I shot a ton of groups like these photos.

Marty...my hats off to you! I have two sets of BoxJax slip on silencers and it doesn't make a sound...I mean none!
8 strand 450+ padded to 12 if you're wondering.
Amazing...I think I've found my reason to shoot again and I can't wait to hit the Compton courses.
I'm trying to come up with a name for it...I was going to go with "The Cherry Bomb" because of the limbs but I think after tonight it's going to be "Sweet Peach" since it's from Georgia.

Great looking stick and you shoot it well. The kid likes it as well
I'm just wondering which one of you really shot the groups??? We will most likely never know.
I'm happy she's working out well for you Josh! She is one of my favorites, that's for sure.
sharp looking bow. cool arrows, too
Josh
Nice shooting, I've liked that bow everytime I see it on here. I'll look for you at compton.

Good to see. I've got a Cumberland coming myself and look forward to it.
String follow ?...
Love 'em !
nice shooting mate !
Great shooting. Marty builds a real sweet longbow. I have a Sapelo model that he built. Great shooting bow.
I shot my Cumberland last weekend at a local 3/D and although my score didn't rflect it it was nice bow to take on the course. Mine is 47#@29" red cedar lams and a riser of Zebra wood and Osage. Marty can real glue the babies up to make the most of the woods. Mine is silent with wool puffs and has great cast!! Enjoy yours.
I was amazed since I was shooting at night when I got home with the flood lights (my normal time to shoot) from my garage...I couldn't see the bulls-eye (since it was worn our...need to get the sharpie and color it back in) but knew where it was and they just seemed to find it with ease.
I'm still blown away at the total lack of noise...it was just dead quiet, look out deer! I'm going to really have to look around my treestands to make sure the branches are cleared so I can get good shots.
Marty...I'm assuming since you've mentioned it before it I ever decide to sell it you'd take it back? Not that will ever happen but you'd love it back right?
Could you make me a 62" Ossabaw that looks just like it?
I'll have this one with me at Compton if you want to shoot it.
Josh
I tell ya what, I picked up one of Marty's Ossabaw longbows on the classifieds. It is BY FAR the best shooting longbow I have had in my hands. I shot last week with a friend with another brand of longbow that is 'sposed to be quiet and he was amazed at just the suble thump that is heard out of my bow. I am shooting lights out with it...nice to know it isn't an accident :)
I am going to shoot in at the Trad Worlds next month and hunt whitetails with it this fall. If I weren't paranoid about losing it on a plane it'd be going elk hunting too. Now if I could just get Marty to make me a take-down version of the one I own
