went out last night for 3 hours and shot a few fish and 2 big snappers. the biggest weighed 26# and i also shot this grassie, weighing 35#....not as big as last weekends fish but he faught harder than any fish ive ever shot.

Nice! you Just peaked my interest in Snappers. Did you just see them on the surface? also do you have to shoot them in the head?
Our season opens for snapping turtles on July 15.

they were under water. and by pure luck i made a neck shot. this is the first one ive killed with a bowfishing setup. i have a shell hanging on the wall from a 18# one i shot last summer with my gamemaster and a magnus II head. he was on the surface though. if you dont head or neck shoot them then you are gonna have to finish them off, no doubt. they are tough critters.
im working on skinning this one after church this evening....got a cool idea for the shell.
