I was really excited to see Bear Archery at Cloverdale. The managment team was there to show some of their new ideas and new products off.I am very impressed with what they are doing. I looked at a new B handle take down with a gray action wood riser and a red stripe and red tip's.Really cool. They are trying to build something that would sell for seven to eight hundred dollars. They are reintroducing some of the older models. They had red and gray glass and they are working on green.I asked them about a A handle with a green stripe and green glass. They said maybe in a couple of years.I've been into traditional archery for about ten years now,and have never really considerd Bear. But i think thats about to change! Thanks,Jim
Cool,this is a good news.
Are they (Bear) still part of The American Archery Group that bought them out after Bear got in too deep with K-Mart?
Makes me wish I had gone to Cloverdale this weekend, but I was mandated to work.
Rusty im not sure.I dont know alot of the history. One of the guy's did mention they bought the company about five years ago.Out of bankrupecy and had to do a lot of work on the factory. One of them worked for Bear for thirty years. They seemed like real good guy's and wanted to get hand's on with the trad side of the company.I think it's pretty cool.
I was just wondering. The Bear Plant is in Gainesville, Fla just off the interstate. I used to go in there when passing by sometimes and pick up a video or a book. they had a wonderful museum, but most if not all of those things were sold off. they also had a small pro shop and an indoor range. they didn't sell things below retail, in fact you could usually buy things cheaper from your local dealer.
It did give you a feeling that you had been somewhere special though walking by the statue of Papa Bear out front.
