Got my new Centaur Chimera today. She turned out nice! Charcoal Ruby riser. Limbs have the XTL carbon core sandwiched by two laminates of action bamboo....woven carbon back with black glass on the belly. It has the stippled grip.
IMHO, they are the holy grail of bows!
Here's some pics..

Hey Mike! Nice bow! What are the specs?
The specs are- 60", 51# @ 29". I draw about 29.75" on these Centaurs, so she's probley around 53# at my draw.
Mike
Mike, that's a beauty  Looks like it has a nice meaty grip. Great looking bow, you did good  They look superb but shoot even better.
Sweeeeeet!!!! Congrats! :goldtooth:
 Awesome, love the Charcoal Ruby.
At that draw weight with your draw length :archer2: :archer2: :archer2: Nothing but smoke!
I think they are the Holy Grail also. I have a 54in and a 58in. Got a 56in coming this fall.
Beeyootiful!!!
Looks like an awesome shooter. Congrats!
The Chimera is a great shooter, and Jim is a great guy to deal with also.
Congrats on a fine looking bow!
Thanks!
Yep, she is a shooter. What so amazing, he gets performance ALONG with stability, accuracy, and quietness all in one package with this design....not an easy task.
I'm also a sucker for dymondwood and black glass. Not sure what it is, I could have went with any beautiful veneer on the belly, but just something about black glass and the right riser wood, just gets me everytime. lol!
Mike
Mike I'm also a sucker for dymondwood and black glass. An ugly riser and beautiful veneers is an awkward combination. Your new bow is fantastic.
Mike, a couple of weeks ago I "tortured" myself over a 62" Double Carbon Elite with a Ruby Charcoal Dymondwood stippled arrowhead grip. After seeing yours I could kick myself for not buying it.
"Dad Dang" Mike that thang is SWEEEEEEEEEEET
I got mine a week or so ago, and what you said...
Yeah Buddy!
I think it is actually a little faster than my Carbon Elite, and she's a screamer! Yours is a real beauty, a classic.
Killdeer
Nice Chimera right there!
Enjoy!
Shoot straight, Shinken
Beautiful, simply beautiful! :D Congrats on a fine bow! :clapper: I took my Centaur on a walk in the hills today.
Very fine Mike..... no need to keep looking is there bud ?
Froggy
Very Nice !!!
Bill
Wannabe1, I take it you're still happy, bitten by the Centaur bug :) :) :)

I hear ya Mike. That was the way it was with me and the Carbon Elite you had....just the timing wasn't right. :knothead: LOL! Sounds like she is serving TW well.

Lanier,
None whatsoever. I haven't shot much of anything else since I got my first Centaur....nothing compares or shoots as good for me as the Centaurs...and I've been through a ton of different bows looking for the ONE!
Mike
WOW, very nice. I have shot a early Centaur but may have to revisit a new one. Thanks for sharing the pictures and Congrats on the new bow. Flint
Nice looking bow Mike.
Congrats on great looking bow. I've got a new to me Chimera coming, should be here Monday.
I have shot the glass, Double Carbon, Carbon Elite and the new Carbon Chimera. I love them all! If I had to pick one, though, the Carbon Chimera has the zip of the Carbon Elite, maybe a tad more, and is quieter about it. Smooth little bow that feels like a friend.
Kildeer
I agree Killdeer. I don't know how quick it is, but it flings them down range very fast. Jim says these new carbon core Chimeras and the Carbon Elites are within 2 ft/second of each other. I've never shot a Carbon Elite, but have a glass model and they ain't no slouch either!,,,Awesome bows!
Mike
Appears by the number of encouraging responses that you made a great decision.
Beautiful bow.
Congrats!!!!!!!
Super cool stick. I really like the way it turned out.
BS
Got all three, I will agree with Killie. The new design Chimera has as much giddy uo as the Elite with less noise.
Froggy
really....I wish you guys and gals would stop talking up Jim's latest creation... maybe I should just put his ph # on speed dial  :archer2:
I'm surprised you don't have a red "Hello Phone" next to your computer.
Killdeer
Anybody now what he changed up exactly?
What is this new carbon/foam core? I've never heard of it.
I'm curious too especially since i'm just a few orders out before he starts mine...AHHH!

I can't say for sure, but I don't think Jim uses the foam core. I think his Carbon Chimera has 3 laminates of carbon instead of the 1 or 2 he used to use. Maybe someone else can come on here and say for sure.
Thats some fancy grip work! Looks fast.
I sure would like to shoot one of those bad boys. That is a nice bow.
Beautiful bow Mike, they are hard to beat.

Could not agree more with that statment!
Nice Bow Mike!
I see off his website, he's just offering the glass or the carbon chimera...guess the carbon elite was replaced?
Mike , I know that bow will have atlot of MOJO! mark#78
That's sweet looking, like the color combo w/ the black glass.
Mike, this bow and some of the others I've seen and shot lead me to ordering one. Thought I'd have to wait until July '11. But a very generous man contacted me and offered a spot on Jim's list. Just heard from Jim that my bow will ship NEXT week. Can't believe it. I know they are great shooters. Just hope it looks as nice as yours!
That looks like a Lamborgini on steriods! I'll bet she's fast as lightning?.. Good luck with her.
Love it!!!
man, that is a beauty! i really like the subtle colors of that riser.
