I just picked up a nice shooting Aspen Vector TD. I beileve they were made by Byron Shurg, but are no longer being made.
Anyone with any info on the Aspen bows?
they were initially made by Byron and the vector was one of his newer models, the Elite was his primary design. He did work with a guy in, I believe, Wisc. near the end of the company who eventually took over all of Aspen bow making. This new bowyer did a fine job except that orders started to be delayed, some were not filled and eventually quit making bows.
Davt,
Thanks for the updated info.
Do you know if Byron marked his bows heavy? The one I have is marked 58# @ 28" and seems to pull harder than that, maybe even in the low 60's.

No, but your's may not have been made by Byron as the company and bow making moved the last few years as stated above. I would also look at it's length, Byron made some short bows that at longer draw lengths may have stacked a bit. The model you are referring to however was generally not made in the shorter lengths.
Another thought, if it was made for B50 and you are using a no stretch string like fast flight you will gain a few pounds due to the string not stretching.
Greetings Davt!
What is the length of your Vector?
BTW - If it was made for B50 and you're shootin' FF, I would be wearing some protection.
Byron made some excellent bows, but if they are built for B50, I would stick with B50 IMHO....
Shoot straight, Shinken
The bow is 66" with Bighorn Sheep overlays.
