Hey Gang,
just finished up an osage selfbow(no shelf cut in)and am looking for recommendations for a proper arrow spine to start with. It is 63-65#@26", 65" long. Thanks for the help fellas, Matt

Matt , I would set you up with 55-60# spine, however everybody is different so it would be best for you to try a range of say 50# to 60# and see what flys best for you .
Remeber if you use a 160 grain head add 5# , if you use fast flight add 5#

Thanks Ted, anyone else?

Matt,I would say Ted is right on. My BBO with no shelf cut in it shot best with arrows that were spined about 10 lbs. lighter then the draw weight. It's a good start, with no shelf you have a big paradox.

If you want to shoot a 27" arrow, I would say 50-54#spine with 125 grain points. If it shows a bit stiff, you can always go to 160's. Ted has sure shot and built a lot more selfbows than me though. LOL!!! But, as he says everybody is different.
