The 1K and MKC LLC's jumped on Ms. Delaneys pound cakes this year to offer up some $$$ for St Judes Kids. As all of you nkow, this is the 3rd year these two "organizations" have gone after it, with much teasing and probing to push each other to raise the most $$$ we could.
Well, ol put-his-foot-in-his-mouth has done it again. I made some comments about Chris that were totally unwelcomed and as sometimes happens with the written word, were also totally misunderstood.
Chris and Larry have both privately told me that it was over, raise money for the kids. I can't put it behind me. I would NEVER say or do anything derogatory towards any vet. Since I embarrassed them on a public forum, I feel like I should apologize on one.
To the Surtees family of soldiers and sailors;
My deepest, heartfelt apologies.
This is a great example on how you "man up"!

Very upstanding of you Biggie. These darn computers don't convey intent very well, and the way a thought rattles around in our heads sometimes doesn't come out the same way on here.
They don't come any better than the Surtees clan, and I know that in reality you have the utmost respect for them, as does every person on Trad Gang.
Tone doesn't always convey well on here and somethings are out of bounds. We don't always know what those things are but when we find out this is the right thing to do. Good on you Biggie for apologizing.
Chris and Larry are great folks who take their service seriously. The family has it's third generation in combat now and that is a true family of American heroes.
:clapper:
Big of you Mr. Biggie. All of you are outstanding citzens of TradGangville! I commend each of you for your dedication to the kids of St. Judes. It is because of many folks like yourselves that mountains become molehills and the kids are so fortunate for your efforts. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
sounds good ...now go shoot some arrows ;)

That's awesome! Good on you Mr. Biggie!
To the Surtees clan....
Thank you!
It came over "wrong" and as most any father would do, defend the family's name!
However, it's over and done, and let's move on! The final night of this great Auction is tonight and it's a chance to make history!

Though I've never met Larry, Chris or Biggie I know that they all have huge hearts. Both for the kids and as brothers who love to shoot traditional archery.
I have the utmost respect for all of you and really hope that someday our paths will cross. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
You are all welcome at my :campfire: anytime, anywhere.

Man you guys have given me goosebumps. Men of honor you are!
:notworthy:
Its the true reason your called Biggie, many don't know.I am as bad as anyone but only say things jokingly and as fun and entertainment for all.St.Judes I think can attest as to what kind of people we really are here on Tradgang.NUGH said, now go eat your cake!LOL
Some times things said in fun can be misunderstood I have a way of doing that myself. But when you clear the air in public everyone should understand then, way to go Biggie.
Proud to know all parties. Good men, all.
Top notch folks all the around!
It's good to see how real gentlemen handle misunderstandings and disagreements.
I am so proud to be allowed to walk among you all.
Killdeer :campfire:
Thanks Biggie but this was not necessary
Not very good with words but like the email said it is over and forgotten.
No need to say anymore about it.
See you in camp this year.

Two words-- "class act"...!
Some fine folks here........ :campfire:
And here I thought I was the only one who shot his mouth off around here! Thanks for taking the heat off me for awhile Biggie. Somebody said it best"Way to man-up". Can I apologize here in advance for anything said in the past or possibly in the fuTure?
Way to go, Biggie, Larry and Chris you all handled this with great class.
Biggie- I've been waitin for an apology from you for years and you go and kiss up to somebody publicaly. You gettin soft in your old age?
I can't take any more of this suck up to Biggie stuff!
As one of your best friends in the whole wide world- you dissapointed me! Ha!
I luv ya- but not for apologizing.
All right- good job.
Whut???
Oh, well, just let me say this about that - no matter how careful we are, "stuff" happens, as I well know. Apologies are good for the soul & heart and usually have the added good effect of causing all of us who witness them to try harder. Living among our brothers (even beloved and respected ones) is not always easy but is always well worth the extra effort.
Bless you all, bless us all
Been there done that, and wasn't very proud of myself. (Still weighs heavy) With you Biggie.
You had the heart to forgive me, and I am sure the clan will forgive you. Seems these pounded\\cookie wars, take a toll on our common sense.

While I don't know Chris and Larry personally yet, It was obvious right away after joining the site that it is a family of class acts.
I am fortunate that I will get to share a campfire with Chris shortly and will get to know him even better. My hats off to him his family and everyone on here and elsewhere that dedicated their lives to supporting this country and this tradition.
Thanks to all.
Way to set an example for the younger guys(like myself), we need more class in today's world :clapper:
I have two clans of upright brothers and sisters. Freemasonry and TradGang.
I am a blessed and honored man to participate in both.
IF THERE IS A MORE HONORABLE BUNCH OF FOLKS ON THIS MONSTER CALLED THE WEB, I HAVE YET TO FIND THEM. WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED.
Class act on both ends.
Didn't see the post in question but have had dealings with most involved. Hats off to "Biggie" for stepping up to the plate with an apology he thought might be needed. No way he would intentionally hurt anyones feelings. Thanks big guy for promoting the pound cake war for the benefit of St. Jude. The kids came out way ahead because of your efforts.
Thanks guys for the good words.
I can't take any more credit than any of the other 40 or so guys who bid up the pound cakes or the fine young lady who offered them. It takes us all to make it happen!
Since the Biggster had a conflict of interest that didn't slow him down in the cake wars(ie his doctor doesn't want him eating sweets!), he worked out a deal with Little D. Three of the four pound cakes that he owns will be delivered by Little D on his behalf to the local Ronald McDonald House where families can stay while they have critically ill children at the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital. I wanted Delaney to get a real world feel for what all of this is really about (helping people in need.) The dollars, gifts and comments from cyberspace aren't easy for a nine year old to totally grasp. Biggie, as you would guess, stepped right up to the plate.
To steal a phrase from the man himself when he wrote an article in TBM about another bowhunter... "pretty classy, huh?"
I love this site.
man, are we sure this isn't a paternity???? Sure feels like one:), without all the weird pledge stuff, but the brotherhood is definitely here . . .

My wife and I were just discussing how he most likely wanted an "F" there instead of a "P".
We even talked about me coming back with a post that somehow would involve requiring some kind of DNA or paternal testing but came to the resolution that it might be best left out...lol
Thank you for the laugh!!! we truly though it was a hoot!
God bless,Mudd
Chris,
I'm pretty sure you mean fraternity. Paternity is a whole different and serious thing. LOL
Mike
At least with Paternity you can prove you didn't do it.... LOL
Great thing.. Biggie..!!

This fathers day should be interesting...LOl
Biggie to come out and apologize is very big of you. That takes Honor and pride. And the Surtees Clan to accept it the way you did takes the same qualities. :campfire:

Sometimes the road has a few bumps...but this was one fine Cake Walk...tippit
"man, are we sure this isn't a paternity????"
Wow Biggie, I bet the last apology was difficult (cheers BTW), but I cannot wait to see your apology for this situation...
I thought the tradition in the south was shotgun weddings. Maybe we need the first longbow wedding.

Biggie knows how almost all of us feel... so, Dang, Ducky, you going to have one very, very special young woman on your hands with all this happening at such a tender age. My hat's off to you and your wife for what appears to be a very powerful parenting partnership. Same to your li'l gal, D, for living it and making a year-long committment :clapper: .
Nope. We're just lucky we got this opportunity...you can't force them and they don't come along very often. Need to make it count and we don't need to get the "big head" when all the generosity really came from folks like Michael, Biggie, Jeff, Tippit et al.

"pretty classy" indeed.....Biggie, you've got some big shoes (no pun intended), that all of us should strive to fill! You make everyone proud with your giving spirit. :notworthy:
Mr. Cul de Canard........the recent lessons of the spirit of giving will provide far reaching impact on Lil' D. She'll have a wonderful story to tell people in the future about how she, her family, and a bunch of folks with at least one thing in common all came together to try to make a difference in the lives of kids in need. And it will be a story that will bring smiles to faces and tears to eyes. There will be lessons to be learned from this story that some might not grasp or understand, but that is to be expected. People are all different and have different values.
I, for one, look forward to hearing her tell that story in the future.
