Is this not one of the finest looking bows you've ever seen?!?
I asked Charlie to build me a Sunbear early last year. Nothing fancy, just whatever scrap wood he had lying around in the workshop. Well, it would appear that his scrap is of much, much better quality than my scrap!
The riser is honduran rosewood (extremely dense), accent is bubinga trimmed by osage, handle back overlay and recurve underlays are also bubinga. The tips are pronghorn antelope from Vance's (Iron Bull's) place. Limbs are tulipwood on the belly with black glass backs
Believe me, it shoots just as good as it looks, too. Very quiet & very smooth. The grip is superb!
Let's let the pictures speak for themselves!

Love that riser design. Looks comfy!
He's got some dandy scrap lying around. :)
You're a lucky man Rob. I can see the "experience" in that bow, Charlie really knows his stuff...

F-Manny
Your a lucky man Rob
Beautiful!!!
Very nice.
Gadzooks!!! How cool it this bow? Way!
Beauty of what I'd call a long curve. I can usually shoot the long curves close to the same as a regular long bow.
Congratulations!! Thanks for sharing it with us Rob.
God bless,Mudd
Beautiful bow Rob
Sweet!
Can I have it! That is a nice piece of craftsmanship.
There goes your spot on the primitive only stand on opening day. :p
You know, maybe we should just go ahead and make an amendment stating Primitive, Sunbear, and Griffin only. Yes, resolved.
Very nice!
Loveley bow, and look at that Tulipwood!!!
Stunning!
Very very nice indeed!
String doesn't look bad either...

WOW !!! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Craftmanship looks fantastic. You should be pleased!
Bubinga and osage...them is some good/beautiful woods/combination. My MOAB is to be bubinga and osage and this just took away all doubts.
Charlie is a gem...
That bow is a CLASSIC in every sense of the word.
And you Sir, are very fortunate to have it!
 Nice bow!
sweet.
Very nice Rob.....you are a lucky man.
Very Nice Rob, Very Classic lines....
WOW !!! What weight and length ???
Numbers, man, numbers! What does it pull? How long is it? I get to look at its image, imagine what it is like to stroke a finger down the riser, now I need a vicarious shoulder strain to complete the experience.
This is a treasure to cherish for all your days, O Lucky One.
Killdeer
I just knew someone would ask if I forgot
OAL is 64" (62" NTN) She draws a silky smooth 60#@30"
Treasure it I most certainly will, Kathy. This one's going nowhere!
Wow! - very nice.
WOW !!
Now that one is a Keeper.
D
the grip on that looks fantastic! Looks similar to a blacktail grip, which I really like.
Good lookin bow, like the arrows too!
Smokin Feathers beat me to it...
I was going to say that "I know I'm weird...buuuut."
Those arrows with well-seasoned zwickeys look just as good, right, perfect, and fitting as the bow.
Heaven help me, I swore I'd never leave my carbons...
P.S. I am continually amazed at how many beautiful, handmade bows there are to choose from. The names that back many of them up are equally amazing. This is definitely the most quality-driven and quality-minded "niche market" I know of.
Those are the first wooden arrows I've put together for years! I'm a carbon man m'self, but a classic styled bow like this calls for a classic arrow. That Zwickey killed the first ever critter I shot with a bow (It was a porcupine, if you're interested!)
Oh, and the fletches & crown are 'Team' pink Waaay pinker in real life than in the photos. NAtura barred feather look nice, but I like to really see where I'm shootin'! :D
She's a beaut :notworthy:
VERY,VERY,VERY Nice!!!!
Great looking bow!!!
One beautiful bow - that wood combination complements nicely!
:bigsmyl:
Congrats on the cool new bow!
Pretty bow! Awesome.
pretty awesome bow my dads workmanship never seems to amaze me.
I've been reading Charlie's posts for years and never knew he built bows too!
Really nice Charlie! You're a lucky man Rob.
