Title: Noisy zippers...
Post by: OB on June 07, 2010, 04:53:00 PM
I have a KOM pack and the zipper tabs are extremely noisy.  I've kicked around the idea of using some heat shrink tubing on them, but are there some different methods out there?  Maybe removing them altogether and use gutted 550 parachute cord as tabs??

When I saw the title of this thread,I though, WHAT?It has to be a brace height issue!     Sorry wrong kind of Zipper.

Now that is funny Bill. I had to look for the same reason, especially after shooting your bows at the Baltimore shoot. They are anything but noisy.

I would use polar fleece tape. I put that  on a lot of things I want to quiet down and camo them.

I get both the Zippers:the bow is really quiet and a fast fast shooter,I am testing it now.
My pack never gave me any noise problem and I use it hard on my elk hunts.

I rip them noisy metal tabs off and put a piece of leather lace on.

Dip the ends in plastic dip for hand tools.

Slip surgical tube over the tabs.I do with most of my hunting gear.Shrink tube and fish tank bubbler tube is even better.

550 cord laced into and around the offending pull is what I do.
