I started my retirement today and I am a little confused. How many arrows a day should I shoot and which shoots should I attend? If anyone sees a guy at Compton,Denton Hill etc with a grin on his face that won't stop, it is probably me.Stop in and say hi. Bob
Bob,
I know your enjoy your retirement! I retired in 1994 after 24 years of military service. I've enjoyed everyday of it and look forward to many more. Enjoy it and do what you want to!!!! This human life must come to an end someday..I want to do as much as I can while I'm here. Stop by the booth at Compton and say HI!
Congratulations! Retirement is a good 10 years down the road for me.
Congratulations on your retirement. It's a good 10 years away for me, and I am looking forward to it. Shoot as much as you want to -- and go to as many shoots as you like.
Bob,
To quote that infamous hunter from TV, "Be vewy, vewy careful!!" You may have so much other stuff to do that you won't have time to shoot. I retired in September and, quite honestly, I've never been so busy. Stuff I had put off, new stuff, the bosses stuff, stuff I've always wanted to try but never quite got there. I love my retirement, but may need to go back to work so I can havesome free time. Naw, ain't gonna happen!!!
Enjoy it, it's great.
Phil
Congrats.....I have 25 years left!
I have a ways to go - 18 yrs - Congrats on your retirment and I wish you the most fun!
J
congrats on your retirement.
Congradulations! I'm looking to join you in around 6 months. Hap
Congratulations!
Shoot as many arrows as you feel like and attend all of the shoots you can make. (IMHO)
Enjoy life!!
God bless,Mudd

Thanks everyone. One day into it and I already added Denton Hill. This fall is going to be a little rough, my wife is still going to be working. I guess I will have to spend more time hunting. Bob
"I guess I will have to spend more time hunting. Bob "
It may require some sacrifice on your part and its an awfully demanding work(fun too) but somebody's got to do it.
It might as well be you!
God bless,Mudd
Sure wish it was me! Congrats. I've got way too long to gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....
:clapper: Alright Bob!!I guess now you will have more time to spend in a certain drive way. :biglaugh: More time to come up with some good pranks also.
Congrats again
Bill
Congrats. on your retirement. I hope to join you in three to four years.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!
I have 3 DECADES left!
Do whatever you want. Most people my age don't want to think about anything over 40...I simply can't understand that...seems to me that, even with the disappointments and pain, life gets better and better as you go.
Congrats!!!!
I've been in the Air Force for 21 yrs and I have NO IDEA what I want to be when I grow up...I've got 3yrs to figure it out.
Congrats Bob ..... I have been retired two years the end of this month. I shoot my bow most days and certainly more than when I worked. I still can't get over the feeling of being able to do whatever I want whenever I want, with in reason of course because the young bride still works. I wish you a long and healthy retirement .... Ken
I just retired this week and it really doesn't seem possible that I am at that stage in my life to be able to retire. The time sure did pass by fast. I can remember growing up Mom & Dad saying the older you get the faster time goes. Boy were they right.
Congrats  on retiring, enjoy it.
I retired last November, man where did the time go ;)
Congrats on your retirement. I'll be joining the ranks in about 10 months!
I retired in 2007, and I have no problem keeping busy. Gives me a lot more time to hunt and fish. Enjoy your new found freedom!
I have been out for almost 3 years, it's a wonderful thing. I shoot most days, a few arrows in the AM,some in the PM unless I go fishing or riding my motorcycle or Kayak'n or work in the garden or do some wood carving or cook for my wife or ride my bicycle or....well you get the idea!!!!! Enjoy, life is short, make the most of it!!!
Enjoy!
Congratulations!
I retired from my first career in 2007 after 28.5 terrific short years. I'll probably hang around this one for 5-6 more.
I retired on May 2. I'm still trying to get used to the idea. I shoot a few arrows each day. I went to the NC Traditional Archery Championships over Memorial Day and have my reservations made for ATAR. I have an elk hunt in Colorado in September. Other than that I'm going to do a few things around the house and spend some time with the grandkids, while waiting for deer season. Oh yeah, I may do a little fishing.
Life is good!!
Phil
Congratulations! Lord willing I've got another 21 to go. Just sarted my 10th year on the 4th of June. Whoo Hoo!
-Jeremy
I retired last month and can say two of my favorite things so far are not rushing my practice sessions and applying to deer/elk/antelope/turkey draws in crummy areas (but with high draw odds) because I am planning my hunts without time constraints. Now I just need to get drawn.
I had 25 years to go, but then Obama was elected. So now I'm either gonna have to work till I'm 119, or just go on the welfare books, and have all of you pay for me to enjoy all my free time to shoot as much as I want.
Enjoy you retirement, and thank you for being a productive member of society. My hat is off to you.
CONGRATS! and enjoy.
Thanks again for the great response. I think Monday morning, my first target I will shoot at is going to be my alarm clock. I should have no problem picking a small spot on that! Bob
Congrats, two and half yrs retired and I work more now than ever.

Bob that is the best of both worlds, with the extra income you can keep buying toys, that's what I did. :biglaugh:

Sam

My congrats too Bob! You made it.
congrats!! Now every day is saturday!!!!!!!
Congrats!! Bob the driveway ready!!
Congratulations Bob! My retirement date is the end of September, this year. I'll be at Denton Hill with a big grin on my face thinking of my short-term employment. I'm really looking forward to having the time to hunt this fall.
Do it right...make the most of it!
I am a well drilling contractor in the N.E part of the state, and I am at many households every year of people who are retired. Many of them do NOT do it right.
Enjoy...enjoy...enjoy. Everyday is NOT a given, and now that you have the time to do the things YOU want, there is not a moment to waste.
I hope that grin never stops. :D
I retired about two years ago, and would not changed a thing. I really enjoy being able to have the freedom to do whatever I want to. I am fortunate I can shoot almost daily, and did last year.
Last year, I hunted more than I ever have and it was great. Two elk hunting trips, numerous deer hunts, pheasant and grouse hunting in between - it was just great.
One cautionary note: people will be more than happy to come up with all kinds of suggestions for you to occupy your time - if you let them. I am speaking from experience. Keep control of your time - as Bonebuster said - do the things that are important to you today. Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one.
Good luck and enjoy your free time!
Congrats Bob, I have been retired for three years now and loving every minute. I will be at Compton this year also. :clapper:
Congrats! I just did the same thing a little over a week ago. I shoot some just about every day, but retirement seems kind of busy so far. I'm looking forward to this fall when I can hunt any day I want!
I don't think I'm going to make Compton, so grin some for me too!
All I can say is that I retire next year at the ripe old age of 53....I can't wait...I have so many things I want to do and I will have the time the money the health to do it.
Enjoy this time, but put it to good use....I mean that...write your BUCKET LIST....start knocking them off bud

Congrats! I'll have been retired for 17 years next week. First thing to learn is that there are no rules and you only schedule what you want to. Best plan is no plan... get up each day and decide what you feel like doing. Today i felt like starting another bow... so I did!
