Title: prepping alloys ...

Any advice on preparing alloy shafts for the "silver " fletch tite ...
i did a dz and the feathers didn't take too well .
any thoughts appreciated

acetone or MEK. Rub the fletch area with dampened paper towel until the shaft "squeeks".

Ajax powder, was used by the aircraft industry to clean before painting. Originally recommended by Easton.  Use a damp paper towel with Ajax, rinse and dry with dry towel. Keep your fingers off. Ajax is not a detergent so leaves no residue.

I agree with the Ajax trick. Comet cleanser works too.

Steel wool then acetone works for me.
