I got my son a 62" amo 40@28" Martin Hunter. It was made in 2006. I am just wondering if anyone knows if it is ready for fast flight. I will try to get some pictures up of the tips so you can see it. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
I don't believe they are. If memory serves it's Dacron only, the same as the X-150, X-200 & Rebel.
I,on the other hand, think they are compatable. You can call Martin and ask for the number for Damon Howatt plant and they will tell for sure.
I had a 2007 Martin Hunter and is was FF compatable,I'm pretty sure the 2006 model is too.Like said give Martin a call to know for sure.I have a 2008 Martin Hunter, great shooting bow.
I did try calling and talked with a women that was very helpful but did not get a true answer. After talking with her we felt like it was but not 100%. I will try to get a picture up tonight of the limbs. The tips look like they are built up.

Pegg,
The Hunter, Mamba & Dream Catcher from that year are all fast flight capable. I was visiting the Martin/Howatt shop in 2005 and spoke with Larry Hatfield about this very issue. He said "no problem".
Your tips look the same as my '08 Hunter, and they are FF compatable.
looks good to me . that black stuff looks like micarta.... let er rip man.
That is what I was thinking. Thanks guys and gals.
can't any bow be used with fast flight if you pad the loops enough? i know a bowyer who for many years has used fast flight on his selfbows without tip overlays and never had a problem. he just pads the loops.
?????
hum never herd of that but it makes sence
Most selfbows are much thicker than laminated fiberglass bows, i use FF on all of my wood bows, but don't on firberglass bows unless they have built up tips.
we cut through the wood and into black fiberglass on that bow. it will use any non stretch material out there.
