OK, I'm going to bite the bullet and buy some carbon shafts for my ChekMate Hunter 2 recurve.
I've looked around the forums here and see that quite a few folks use Arrow Wraps.
I am interested to know the lowdown on these things. Do they really affect spine? Are they easy to install? Do they overlap and leave a bump on the shaft?
Any comments from experienced folks are appreciated!
They don't affect the spine. They are very easy to install. Use a mouse pad and just roll them on. Yes, they overlap and there really is no noticable bunp. They work great and in my opinion are the only way to go on carbon shafts.
Pete wraps will stiffen ur spine a fuzz.( not enough to matter) Really easy to install just lay upside down on a mouse pad lineup the edge by nock and have a even gap inbetween the wrap and arrow and cotinue to roll the arrow onto the wrap. Every wrap i,ve have used overlaped about 32nd with no effect at all.
Technically speaking they stiffen the spine, but I bareshaft tune with them on the bare shafts so I know what I is going in.
I use the reflective ones 3rivers sales, not free but help find my $30 arrow after a shot so are insurance in my opinion.
The bump is badly noticable, especially compared to a fletched arrow...
Good luck
I buy mine from Onestringer (sponsor) and if you buy the solid color ones, they are very reasonably priced.I use em on every arrow wood/carbon.. The only way to go IMHO.
I get mine from onestringer too. Great prices and quick delivery. Just ordered some yesterday.
Just put my first couple on last week. Install easier than you can imagine and the feathers hold tight. Don't imagine I'll ever go without them again.

Another plus is how well the fletching tape adhears to the wraps...
I never posted this here and you didn't hear this from me (sorry BW):

With most carbon arrows use 1 inch wide wraps. They also make refletching easy peel wrap and clean shaft no sanding on arrow. If you shoot alot will be replacing feathers before carbon shafts.
Thanks everyone! Sounds pretty good, I think I'll try some.
I have them on all my carbons and love them. They do affect spine but only a fuzz and not enough to worry about.
Just thought I would mention also, to me , glue sticks mucher better to the wraps!!!!
Big Jim's got em
I just ordered some more from Onestringer too, excellent quality, great price. I will not fletch carbons without them. If you will use a super glue type adhesive you will not be disappointed.
Yep once you wrap you won't go back.

Do they make ones that will fit the skinny Beman MFX Classics?
I purchased some wraps from Onestringer and they look and work absolutely beautiful. Can't see any of my arrows without them.First class!
They are as good as they look, the beauty is just a part of the deal. They make the arrow much more visible so you can see better where you it your game.In the last few weeks I started to consider that the animal we hunt deserve the best possible looking arrow,it adds pleasure to the hunt and makes your arrows more unique;so the wraps are mandatory for that.
Well, I'm sold. I need to pick out the arrows first, then I guess it's a visit to onestringer's for the wraps!
Thanks again everyone..
Wannabe1, yes Onestringer has them for MFX. Go to his FAQ's to find the width you need for your shafts. I think the MFX wrap is .95" but check to be sure.
