Besides the Shrew classic hunter and little favorite, what are some nice shooting bows in the 54-56 inch length. I have seen some pictures of the Hoots bows and they look really nice. Any feedback on some bows you own or have shot would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
Dave and Tracey at St. Joe make a real nice short recurve. There were many with long draws who tried it out at K-zoo and loved it.

I like their 58 inch longbow, took a few deer with it last season. These fat doe were a couple of them. ;)

Right now I have a 60 inch but I tend to like a little longer bow. I've has days when a 54 incher would have been perfect.
Addiction Recurve. Lee Hoots, Bowyer.
I shot a 56 inch St. Joe River recurve at the PBS Banquest in Nashville earlier this year and ordered one before heading home.
Mark,
Look into the Lost Creek NAT longbow. Mine is 54" and shoots like a dream. I love it. Chad does great work and has the best customer service.
Dan
Two Tracks makes a turkey blind bow that's real nice.
Cascade ! Great shooting short bows
I would've mentioned Chuck's (Two Tracks) Ambush bow but I haven't shot it yet. They sure look great and at 50" long would work great in a blind.
I have really fallen in love with Big Jim's Thunder Child longbow. He makes both 54" and 56" thunder child.

I really like my Bob Lee 54" short riser takedown recurve. Its stable and fast.
www.kanatiquiver.com (http://www.kanatiquiver.com) to see the Addiction Recurve.... have a few new ones in stock to list also
The Morrison Mini ILF B or C limbs for 54-56" recurve or longbow.
My 54" Rivers Edge Arroyo is smooth, fast, and a great shooter. And a good looker also.
My 56" great northern ghost is nice and light, draws very smooth and is extremely quick at 60#, they just don't make them that short anymore, same goes for my 56" psr, just a little more mass weight.
I'll second Chads Lost Creeks, I haven't tried a NAT yet but my wifes and my 56 inchers are great shooters.
Some nice bows listed--I'll add Treadway Black Forest. I've also heard great things about the Wild Horse Creek Kestrel, but have never shot one.
Black Swan has a 56" both in recurve and hybrid, that are smooth shooters.
How about a Bob Lee Dark Archer? It was originally developed in conjunction with Double Bull Blinds, Inc.
Check it out.

I second that - just got one and it is sweet!!!
Kanati is a very nice short bow.
JD @ Whisperstik Makes a sweet 56"er and I have a couple Bighorns that are 54 and 56" bows. Both shoot great and I have 2-3 sets of limbs for both(one is curved bed and the other is a later model) Probably can find a used one of those and limbs are always available.
Bob Urban
Bear Grizzly's (1968-69-70) 56"ers they shoot Great,

Bob Lee makes a great-shooting 54" recurve with their short riser; I also recently got a Wild Horse Creek Kestrel which is 54" AMO and a sweet little shooter--very light in the hand and pretty, to boot.
Wild Horse Creek has both a 54" and a 56" that shoot very smooth. Mike Dunnaway builds a very nice bow.
