Well, I was really hoping to get the RFA Phoenix in before I shot a turkey this year, but our season ends Monday and when I checked UPS tracking info the heads are supposed to be here Tuesday... :(
So, I loaded up some of the 150 grain prototypes on a Wal-Mart carbon arrow and got it flying right out of a #45 Bear Kodiak Hunter Recurve. The bow is very special to me because it was my uncle's. He bought it new a loooong time ago. When my parents visited him a couple of summers ago and mentioned that I was into shooting traditional bows, he insisted that they bring it home to me as he is in his 70's and no longer hunts.
Well, this morning before church I headed out to a little honey hole that I have permission to hunt on and when the first bird walked by the blind at about 12 yards I cut loose. The shot was a little low, right through the top of the thigh. The arrow zipped right through and actually stuck in a tree behind it.
My daughter took this pic.

Hey Curt, thanks buddy. I'll post pics of the broadheads when the actual ones get here on Tuesday.
Your a blessed man to have a hand me down like that. Nice pic and turkey, I'm sure your uncle is so happy that his bow is being used.

Thank you all for the very kind comments. I had a wonderful conversation with my uncle on Memorial Day. He is in his 70's and had a couple of great stories about his days in Colorado mule deer hunting.
Curt, here is a couple of pics of the broadheads. The glue-on 150 grains and the screw-in is 100 grains.
