That hunting season is just around the corner; how are you preparing and what places are you planning to hunt this year? any out of state hunts? post them and let us know;
I live in Arkansas but my hunting season begins in September in Missouri; then I plan to hunt Illinois and Tenn as well as my home state; can't believe how fast it's approaching but I love it......... :campfire:
Ours starts in Sept as well. I'm staying put in WI this year to chase whitetails. I would love to go out of state to hunt bears though. Mabey next year
i dont try to wish my life away but.....man i wish it would hurry up..deer start oct.1st
This year for us June 1st means only 17 more days to Compton !!! First trip ever.
It also means for us here in TN that we only have a little over 3.5 months to hunting season in Sept. I actually loathe the first few weeks since it can be in the 90's. However, awful hard to sit home knowing others are in the woods. Almost impossible to control scent at all that time of year. Almost wish that our bow season opened on Oct 15th like our neighbors in AL.... did I say that out loud ????

Hello, I think this is my first post. Early archery season starts sept. 1 here in WA. This will be my first bow season with a trad bow. Can't wait to let the air out of a blacktail and hopefully an elk as well. For my first bowkill I don't care about size or antlers, if its legal and brown its down. :bigsmyl:
...Washington state elk archery season is only 100 days away...unless you are blessed to draw a coveted special elk archery permit that lets you begin your season on 9/1 instead if 9/9....
:campfire:
Have a great 2010 hunting season!
Shoot straight, Shinken
End of August will be leaving for CO to chase elk, this will be the 9th year in a row.

COMPOUNDLESS IN CONCRETE welcome to tradgang and the family. I hope you enjoy your journey and share it with the rest of us and ours.
I've never been on an elk hunt but it looks amazingly fun. I had planned on giving myself a hunt years ago and even made a plan as how to get it done.
I smoked way back then so I told myself if I would quit smoking and stay off them for one year I could save the money that I would have spent on them and go out west somewhere and have an elk hunt.
I was into my 6th successful month of being quit when I took a fall in my home that permanently damaged the nerve that operates the diaphragm on the left side. Therefore I have only one lung that works. It kind shot my hunt out of the water.
I have been to Colorado a couple of times since then with our youth group. I don't remember the elevation but I ended up getting real sick the 1st time and the second time I used oxygen bottles for the 1st 3 days there and got by.
I have serious reservations about whether or not I could do a hunt in those mountains today.
I do enjoy reading about them so please remember those of us who won't be going and give us all the details with pictures please!
God bless,Mudd
I love October in Indiana!
