Title: ACX Carbon Riser Review
Post by: Peckerwood on May 28, 2010, 08:56:00 PM
WOOOOEEEEEE!!!!!

I called Larry last week to ask some question about their new ACX bows. They just happened to list a riser In Stock so I had him send it out.

I have shot 100+ arrows with this riser (I am using my standard limbs)and am very impressed.

This riser makes a very light bow but there is no vibration and it is more quiet ( I didn't think that was possible). The grip is like the 14 in. standard but has a little more mass at the throat. The rest is a little higher than the standard.

The riser almost feels alive. It is always warm to the touch and does not feel like a hard object.

What will the secret A&H lab come up with next?

Here are some comparison pictures of the standard riser and the carbon riser.
I usually put a beaver tail grip on my ACS risers but I may not on the carbon . It feels pretty good the way it is.

Yup... John Havard speaks the truth!

I got my ACS-ACX in the mail yesterday and I completely agree. The riser is sweet and I feel like my hand melts around it. I've always been a fan of the ACS bows, but this one is taking it up a notch. This one goes to 11. I haven't been able to shoot it a ton (as I normally would have by now) because it's been nasty and raining. But I stood in the rain for about 20 minutes last night shooting and tuning and I'm pretty happy with it. I just put the silencers on this morning so I'm letting it rest a while to get the puffs twisted into the string before I have at it for real.

I may have to start calling this bow "The Highlander". I think it may start dispatching other bows in my collection in an attempt to become "the one".    :D

 :knothead:  Oh! Sorry stat guys...
The ACS-ACX I got yesterday is the 64" length and pulls 60lbs at my 29" draw. I'm not going to put it through a chrono, but I think it'll kill something!

Glad you like it Levi.  The secret is in the sauce!

Until you actually hold one and shoot it, it's hard to understand just HOW different this bow feels and (doesn't) sound.  Pretty neat, huh?
