Just wondering if anybody else has this going back and forth problem with bow quivers to bare bow! It seems that I can't decide between using a bow quiver on my longbow or other means, I'm allways switching back to a bow quiver as it seems just plain more accessable, easier to get at, faster, and with everything out in front! and I just don't like extra stuff hanging off me! I was shooting this am with the bow quiver on and figured if I could shoot at 22 yards one feild tip arrow and one broad head arrow and hit what i was shooting I'd be good with it! I was looking ,I guess to see if this would change my tune on the bow! well I took my first shot with a field tip and she was in there where i was looking, so next the broadhead, zip, in there way totoo close to the other one, lucklly it didn't robinhood or shave my other arrow! I guess there's no tuning issues here! so bow quiver it is till I change my mind again!LOL anyone else have this problem??? Oh, I do always shoot and hunt with a bow quiver on my recurve!
DO both.
I don't notice any impact change either at hunting ranges so I lose the quiver during shoots in the spring/summer and start practicing with it again a few weeks before hunting season in the fall.
On a side note I prefer not to use a bow quiver for wing or small game as it always seems to catch something when you move quickly to get the shoot off.
Do whatever you feel like doing at the moment.
I like the bow quiver but i have a injury in my left shoulder so i took it off.The added bow weight bothered it.I missed it.So one of my good friends and customer made me a one arrow quiver that mounts on my riser. This thing is so cool, light.I use the arrow on my bow as a back up arrow when you need to get to one fast.I use a side quiver like the one Chuck Adams always used back in the day.Best of both worlds.
If you "think" that you shoot better with it off - leave it off. H
I go back and forth also quite a bit. I do prefer the bow quiver when hunting just to give added weight to the bow to make it easier to steady.
I leave my bow quiver on 24/7/365 days a year, full of arrows(3 with two-blade heads and one with a Judo). No problems to me with leaving it on all the time.
:)
I guess I'm a on again off again type of guy! I do prefer bowquiver for hunting and found that it doesn't change my shooting at all! The added weight on an allready light bow isn't much difference! But come fall who knows!! I do know when I carry a fanny pack and binos I sure don't want any added items hanging off me, heck i don't even like a pack on!!
I like them on my heavy riser bows but do not care for them on my GN's and petite bows. On something like a Martin Hunter I just do not notice a bow quiver were as on my GN Ghost I find the added weight distracting.
I'm just the opposite. Like on my featherweight bows but not on my takedowns.
I use a bq on my longbow when I hunt but take it off when I 3D shoot over the summer as my quiver only holds 4 and I like to take 6-8 on 3D shoots. Towards hunting time I add it back on a few weeks before just to make sure there aren't any issues. There haven't been so far. With my recurve I would always take it off and hang it on a tree branch.
