Hey Gents,
I have the opportunity to trade some left over wheelie components for this TD bow... trick is, I am not sure if it IS a Hatfield. Can anyone weigh in and give some info from these pictures? Is this a good deal? Figure I would be trading around $250-300 value area.
Thanks

It says:
McGinty
Hatfield Takedown
61# @31
9593
On the limb.
Thanks!
it looks like an older one
I have one which is 60# at 28", my riser is very similar to yours but the limbs are black glass, i am not sure they made them custom but it does look like the one in the picture is, what with the clear glass and the 61# and the name McGinty, i would say it´s a good deal no matter wether it is or not, for more info Mr Hatfield himself sometimes posts on here amongst other traditional archery sites, I would ask him, he has been very helpful and kind in the past! Good luck!
Well, if it says that's what it is I guess it is :) . They made one before the Hatfield that was more like yours that was called the Martin take down. Those limb bolts look just like the ones on a Howatt TD I bought back in 1980--called the Howatt Take Down (clever, huh?). Boy was it a nice bow. I would still own it if I had not turned lefty. The guy who has it now still shoots it exclusively. I never see those for sale anywhere. Had a bubinga riser with just one single maple strip laminated under the back side of the riser for a little accent....brown glass limbs. East Side Archery in Chicago sold them as the Nimrod TD, and others sold them under other names. Jim Dougherty sold them as the Alpine TD, Doug Kittredge's Bow Hut sold them as the Backpacker TD. All the same bow.
It sure looks like one
I think Paul Brunner had some made for his screaming eagle company that looked alot like that too. I think they were hatfield's made by Martin archery.
Yes it is a Hatfield. The earlier ones had ball bearings in the limb butt. The later ones made from those woods had pins. Gary
That's a Hatfield......Mid 80's I would guess!
Looks like a Hatfeild to me.
it looks like one does it have ball bearings for locators in the limb butt? i had a one i shot it a lot
They made one that was called( the Gail Martin--- something ) That had clear glass on the limbs, could be one of those
Thanks guys... what is the value of a bow like this?
I know friend that has one that looks just like that but it doesnt have clear limbs it has black limbs.
If you get it for $250.00 you won't get hurt too bad, i have seen them go for more and less :archer2:
