...and I don't know when I'll get to shoot it, being up to my eyeballs with semester one report-writing! Nuts!
I got to string it up, and admire it, though. My apologies for the poor photos, I just didn't have time during daylight. Hopefully I'll take some more photos later.

The specs:

The riser is darker Pau Ferro, and the limbs have the Tiger Myrtle veneers. I requested that black replace the red.
When I have a chance, I'll make my own string to match the bow better.
Assorted angles (sorry about the poor photography):

OOOOOO Purdy, hey you could send her my way & I'll give her a good work out till you get the time. :bigsmyl:
I took a chance on the Asbell grip - it seems really nice to hold (oh, the torture of it all!). It's tillered for 3-under.
Thanks, Eugene - very kind of you! My mate Dave has offered to do the same. He recently became a Widow shooter, and he reckons mine will be heaps slower than his, because, as we all know, red is the fastest colour on the planet.

Nice bow
Pretty!
good looker :archer2:
Sweet bow mate, you just have to MAKE the time to take her out for a walk.
Very nice Ben, I am enjoying mine. Great shooting little bows. Ed

Very nice. Just gotta love them Widders. :clapper:
Man, you Aussies always seem to pull some serious weight! Is that beautiful BW 65@28? Must be like hunting here in New Mexico - no really close shots and lots of big animals!
Serious, she's a beaut, Ben. I'll have to post some pics tonight of a kind of unique BW I was lucky enough to pick up awhile back - A hint: the BW folks named her the "Diamondback".
Get a little blood on it Ben! H
She's a fine looking bow!
make some time and shoot it. mine's smooth as silk.
Nice!
That's a winner for sure!!
Great looking bow! I love my Widow.
I was admiring the bow immediately below that bow, now that is as awesome bow!
Very Nice ... a good lil' Hog tamer for sure ...

I can't see the pics from the computer I am using at the hotel business center, but I know they are lookers and great shooters.
Can't wait to get to Milwaukee to shoot her again
Congrats Jer Bear
First Dans ,now this,Congrats Ben,one beautiful bow ,BW ceases to amaze me.
Good one Ben. Sure you will love it when the time comes to start shooting.
What string do you plan on running?
Thanks, fellows. Tom, it'll just be a big, slow 18 strand TS+ string.
I like the black in place of the red! Sharp bow, congrats!
Ben,
What is the last bow down in the rack?
Reddoge:
That bow at the bottom of the rack is a left-handed Damon Howatt, 55# @ 28" from Geoff Arnold's memory. It is from about 1962. It was mostly built by Howatt, but was shipped along with a whole bunch of unfinished recurves to Sydney, Australia, as a customs fees dodge. The Aussie boys finished these bows by cutting the sight window and shaping the grip and sealing it all. This one was finished by Geoff's late brother, and is a twin to the 81# bow that Geoff finished and killed the first water buffalo to be taken in Australia with the bow and arrow. That heavy bow was lost in Cyclone Tracey.
I finished reports today, and shot the new bow and mowed the jungle out the front. The bow is superb to shoot. It really seems easy and quick, and is just so pleasant. I love it.

The Asbell grip is really comfortable, and more like my Martin or Silvertip or Bears than the standard Black Widow grip which I find a little sharp until I get used-to it. I'm glad I went with the Asbell grip.

Gabby dropped a hair on the bow; it isn't a crack. I got a bit of a fright when I looked at the photo, and hurried to check on the bow. Flamin' dog.

Pretty bow Ben. Enjoy it!
It blows my mind how some people are so critical of these Widow bows.
Great looking bow and having owning one myself i can tell you they are tough as nails.
I like that black limb core, nice difference from the red. Nice bow, just way to heavy!
Ben
Each individual has their own individual taste in what is a great looking bow. Every one is entitled to their own opinion. As a matter of fact, I had collected over 200 pics of different bows and would review them often. The BW bows have personally appealed to me the most. You have chosen one of the best of the best looking bows available. Too bad I deleted all my photos in correcting a computer issue.
Hope you enjoy shooting her as much as you admire looking at her.
nice !!! How does it feel shooting the shorter bow ?
Ben,
That's a FINE looking Widder CONGRATS

Very nice bow Ben, like the black the black, nice hog too, interested that you like the bigger strings, is there a reason, not knocking just curious as most seem to be going the other way in search of a few extra pfs.
Again nice rig. :)
