Those of you who own or have shot a RER,I would like to hear your opinions.Be honest and don't sugar coat it.How do they shoot compared to other bows that you have used?I'm looking for a bow that will last a long time and they are in my price range.Look's like a high quality bow for the money.I value your opinions, thanx.
-
I owned a RER 3pc takedown but did sell it. I like buying and selling bows to try them out and have some fun.
That said, it was a very smooth drawing, well made, good looking bow. It shot very well...no negatives, really.
An excellent value.

Robert The RER bows are a real performer. I own two T/D recurves,a one piece Arroyo recurve and a Vortex longbow. All of my bows are smooth to draw, quiet and shoot great with either heavy or light arrows. These bows are built for the longhaul and you won't find many with this sort of quality for the money. i'll post pics of mine here later today.
-
I'd love to shoot that 1pc Arroyo...has a very BW TF look...bet it is a real performer.

The Arroyo is a a great bow,as are all of them. That was my go to bow for this season. I had to stop shootin my BHs for practice. sheared to many feathers off.
-
I also am a fan of RER bows, smooth, quiet and fast.Kevin and Sue are a pleasure to work with and I feel their bows are tops, especially for the $$.
I have two t/d's and a Vortex.Other bows come and go but these are definitely staying.
-
I have the one piece Arroyo and it's my favorite bow. I'm not enough of an archer to explain why, but I'm just more accurate with it than any bow that I've tried and it's faster than my Bighorn takedown recurve of the same poundage. It did have a twang to it bare with the fastflight string but it quieted down fine with string silencers and limbsavers.

I have shot my friends vortex. Very good shooting bows. If i did'nt like my morrisons so much i would probably own 2 or 3 of them. you won't go wrong with one of them.
-
THanx fellas,I emailed them today to try and work out some details.I may go ahead and order one.Golden Hawk, are the grips on your td's medium with narrow throat?Maybe I can get a good idea of what grip to get by looking at your's.
-
Yep thats what they are Robert. You won't find any better folks to deal with. Make sure you ask what they have in stock you might be pleasantly surprised.
-
What wood is that in the riser of the Arroyo? Really nice looking bow.
-
I had a RER takedown and liked it better than any other recurve I've ever owned but I swapped it for a 'Vortex' just because I wanted a longbow. Now, the 'Vortex' is my "go too" bow hands down. Smooth, quiet, NO hand shock and pretty darn fast. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of other bows but my RER 'Vortex' longbow is the one that goes huntin'. You'll not go wrong with any bow Kevin makes. Great bows and great people to deal with.
-
I really like the looks of the Vortex.
Oh no! :help:
-
Spike Master the Arroyo has an all Ziccote riser with actionboo stripes and overlays.
Raw Hide I think you need to get a Vortex of your own! LOL!!
-
I swapped for one awhile back. Thought I'd never stray from my Bighorns but was really suprised with the Rivers Edge. It's quiet, fairly quick, and an overall pleasure to shoot.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
-
Just wait till ya see the 54" Arroyo. LeRoy got to shoot it and says it shoots great.best of all it can be drawn to 29" smooth and should go 30" easy.Kevin and Sue are the best people you will ever deal with.<><
-
I picked up a stock 3pc recurve a couple of weeks ago...........Very nice bow, performs, looks and crafted as well as bows that are 2x the price...as mentioned--Kevin and Sue are a pleasure to deal with and I would definately check to see if there are any in stock bows...
I was going to order one the end of last fall and there was an 11 month wait--probably a little longer now---
-
Mark,
Are you going to bing that to the Bunny Hunt? I'd love to try one of those RER's..
David

Heres pics of thenew 54" ARROYO.<>< (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/rer.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/ARROYO.jpg)

Thanks LeRoy, they shoot as good as they look!
T/D is cocobolo/rosewood riser with bosse burl over actionboo. The Vortex is kingwood riser with rosewood over actionboo. To say they are smooth is an understatement.
Don't think you can go wrong with one of the RER bows.
-
Heres my RER with a low wrist grip

-
Wow Rod!!!! That is one Sweeeeeeet bow.
-
Great looking wood combo, Rod. Quilted maple veneers? Maple wave and coco?
-
Yes, Cutty Quilted maple veneers over carbon and cocobolo/birdeye maple riser...gorgeous bow, but its lost on me :) I just like the way they shoot! I have a real problem keeping the bow outta Trishs hands long enough to shoot it !...lol
-
The Arroyo is a nice looking bow. But not up on the RER website yet, nor on their pricelist. Anybody able to give a ballpark price on these?
-
Same price as the takedowns I believe.
-
If I'm not mistaken The Arroyo is $525 and up on custom orders.
-
LeRoy is right on the price. The website being updated very soon. The webmaster is working on it right now so should not be very long. Pics of all the bows they make will be on the new updated site along with prices.Any ??? just give Kevin or Sue a call.<><
-
David--I will bring it to the bunny hunt--Mark

Call and ask what they have in stock. The stock bows are significantly less expensive than that and no waiting.
-
That is very true. The price of $525 is for a custom order, and the stock bows are about $75 less. these are the numbers I got from Sue tonight.
-
LeRoy, bring dat longbow wit ya in Sept...I wanna shoot it!!!!!lol
-
You got it Brad. I was planning on that one coming along
-
Thanx fellas,I emailed him to see if he could send some pics of in stock bows.In stock is mighty tempting, waiting on a bow is the worst kin of torture.
-
Robert, Even the in stock bopws are amazing wood combos. I think you'll be happy in the long run.
-
hey Leroy! that 'Voretx' longbow of your's sure looks lonely in that group of recurves. maybe you should send it to me so it can shoot and play with other longbows. LOL
-
It won't be lonely for long Danny. Kevin will be making it a playmate soon. LOL!!
