Anybody know where I could purchase some sealskin for rest material????????
Good luck, them suckers are protected like the spotted owl! Maybe ODFW has some they shot a few on the Columbia River this year.
I have heard some guys finding some old sealskin purse on **** and cut them up to make their own sealskin rests, just a thought.
Just what I was going to post. I know a guy who did that.
A member from Omaha, NE posted on here about a year ago on the forum that he had some. Like an idiot, I didn't order any or save the info.
Now I can't find anything on it.
PM your address to me. I will mail you a piece from Alaska Bowhunter Supply that will probably give you a couple of rests or a rest and strike plate. They only came about 2" x 3" when new and I took a rest and plate out of it.

This may be a business opportunity for me. We're killing seals here on the East Coast, but I don't know anything past that. Are there only certain parts of the hide suitable for rests, such as underbelly makes the best or whatever?
I have a sealskin rest that I need to replace as well. Would this be something that most archers would want?
-contact Bob Morrison...he was selling squares of seal skin at K'zoo this year.
I just bought 24 square inches of it on the auction site for $13 delivered.
That's it David-rub it in,LOL.
A piece of it will find it's way to the St Jude's Auction once I have it in hand. ;)
Go to E Harmony and look for an Alaskan native girl, get in good and then ask for some.Thats about the best shot you have.
