And don't look back. Just keep focused on that spot on the target.

It is all fun and games from here on out.  No more screws, little broken pieces and driving to a shop for a new string or a tune during hunting season.

Have not missed mine at all. This will be my fifth year without it and I take more animals now than with it! Simple and effective...what more do you need?

I've been having visions of my first "big" trad kill for the last week or so and I know that when it happens my wheels will be gone also.  Well maybe just locked up in the closet   :)

Thanks guys!  I wasn't sure if I would go this way, but now that it is packaged up and ready to go, I find myself ready to really get my hand dirty and hunt!

Thanks again... the beautiful part is that I was able to part-out the bow and get maximum dollar back... hopefully I can sell my sight so I can pick up a longbow or 'new' (used really) recurve.  The bows I have are either borrowed or falling apart...

But I still shoot 'em and kill those 3D targets nicely  :)

STRING BEAN mentioned he was waiting for his first big trad kill BEFORE! hey brother no reason to wait cuz you will get your first big kill eventually. I just started with trad this january and havent killed anything yet but sold my wheels and will never look back. its flowing through my blood now wish i would have started this journey 15 years ago when i first started bowhunting

Yeah I'm a little chicken to get rid of it yet.  When I see my arrow fly trough the chest of a hog/deer...I don't believe I would ever want to go back to wheels.  I just have to "prove" to myself that  I can do it!

I've been chasing one hog for about two months now and there is no doubt in my mind that on several occasions that if I've had my compound at the time I'd be eatin' "high on the hog" now and I've been tempted to take it but I just walk off and leave it hangin'in the closet.  So even though I still have my wheels and not really ready to take 'em off yet they are losing air awfully durn fast.

STRING BEAN  hey bro dont really think you have to prove to yourself as much as BELIEVING in yourself i think thats where it starts being confident in your shooting and equipment the rest will fall in place. and i tip my hat to you for resisting to grab your wheels even though you know you could be enjoying bacon rite now. but look at it this way if you would have grabbed your wheels your hunt would be over already. Dont get me wrong i love to kill also and many a whitetail have fallen to my wheels, but its the hunt that drives me and brings me back and how much sweeter that will be for both of us when we each get our 1st big kills with our stick n string.hey it might take a lil longer but our time will come!!

Thanks again gents!  Without the wheels to fall back on, it forces me to fully embrace the recurve.  Plus now I am not splitting up my practice time between compound and trad... its ALL trad.  I am confident on big game out to 20 yds already, so I am sure I will be good to go in September... man I cannot WAIT!!!

On another site, a post was started on misses that haunt them. Many compound shooters lamenting failed equipment, which is too bad, but one of the most common comments. Now it's just you, the stick and the animal. Good Luck and don't look back. Aim small, miss small.

Mr. Penguin, I know how you feel. Just recently sold a like new wheelie and now I will be focusing on the trad equipment.  A little nervous but with more practice I am sure it will ease up.  I took 6 deer with the Mathews last season, I will be thrilled to take one this year with the Black Widow or Shrew I picked up on this site.  Best of luck to you friend.
