Most of us have heard of Mr. Warren Womack, for those of you who have not I highly recommend visiting his website:

The word "unbelievable" comes to mind as you read through all the stories and pics he has taken the time to share! This is a man someone should be writing books about or atleast publishing all his hunting stories! I am willing to bet that there are very few out there who would not learn something about hunting by reading his stories.
I contacted Mr. Womack about doing a plaque for him as payback for all that I have learned from him...no charge. He wouldn't hear of it! The only way he would agree to let me do one for him was if I let him pay me to do the one of his Grandson.
Here goes...

Wow,unbeleivable work!!
WOW! Indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent tribute to an incredible individual. I miss his stories that used to fly around here. I've seen one home-made video of him hunting hogs in LA. Dang! That older gentleman would kill me trying to keep up!
Thanks for sharing, Chip! Excellent work (as always). Incredible subject matter!
Thanks, Big Ed, 1bjd, and Doc!
Doc, checkout his website! I think the first 260 bowkill stories are on there! Plus his gun stories!
By the way, say a little prayer for Mr. Womack. He told me he was checking in to the hospital for a few days. His heart beat is off and they need to fix it. Gonna try medication first, then possibly shocks.
Outstanding work as always Chip.
Got sweet, kind Warren Womack covered in prayers, Chip. He's a fine gentleman! I will pray he regains his health and continues to shame us younger chaps for many years to come!
Thanks for the link. The plaque is really neat .What do you make it out of?
Sam
Ssamac,
The plaque is bark-on basswood. I carve it down to the different levels, sand each level smooth, then draw it in with a woodburning pen. That's the short version, LOL!
Chip
Great work Chip! I too will pray for Warren.
Will be praying for Mr. Womack. Have really enjoyed the few phone conversations that we have had as well as the bowhunting videos that he produced. He is a great man.
I am sure he will appreciate the prayers. Hopefully he is home by now. He said doctor was going to try to regulate his heart with medication and if that didn't work, then they would do shock treatments! Doesn't sound like much fun and anytime we are talking about a fella's ticker...well it is always serious.

Looks like a body could just reach out and shake that amazing gentleman's hand, doesn't it?
Awesome!
Wow - all I can say
Thanks, Doc and J-dog!
Always nice to get a few responses just to know people aren't sick of me posting these.
By the way, Warren said they were able to regulate his heart with some medication. It made him feel funny, but he was out of the hospital last Wednesday. Guess he needs some surgery they will be doing in the future and had to get his heart beating right first.
update...getting close

Your work is outstanding and the pic alongs are great!
Dude, You are an amazing artist. I ALWAYS open your threads and am ALWAYS amazed. Very cool.
Thanks, Shaun and Gregg! Don't forget you can bid on getting one of these done in the St Judes Auction!
Both my wife and I are in awe of your work.
Oh you can bet I'll bid on a chance at getting one done as that's about the only way I would ever be able to afford one.
I do hope I get outbid though because it would be worth far more than I could ever bid.
God bless,Mudd
I have got to get an order in...your work is just amazing!
Very nice work.
Thanks, Mudd, Dave, and GrnMtnTradNut!

Great job!!! Mr. Warren is good as they come. I was blessed to hunt with him a few days and share a campfire or two with him. Times I won`t forget.RC
Awesome work as always!
Noticed you didn't show the arrow hole though.... :bigsmyl: Artistic license eh?
Thanks, RC and Dave!
Dave, I usually leave out the blood and holes. My goal is to make the animal look alive, so the hole doesn't help with that. Also, do you have the taxidermist show the hole and blood? Nope, because you don't want to really offend sensitive folks who come over for dinner and the taxidermist is also trying to make the animal look alive! Guess it is artistic license. That being said, if a customer specifically tells me to put it in then I will.
Besides, when has Warren Womack ever hit anywhere but in the perfect spot!
Chip
