Title: Where to buy banana cut fletching
Post by: TroyH on May 18, 2010, 10:45:00 PM
Do you know where you can buy banana cut fletching by the dozen?
Gateway has them in packs of 50 for $40 but I want to try a dozen.

Surely you can find them cheaper.

Buy chopper and cut your own out of full length feathers. Choppers pay for themselves in the long run.

If you only need a dozen, get some full length feathers, masking tape and a pair of sissors and make them yourself. Make a thin cardboard template, for a five inch feather you want about 5/8" at the heighest point of the feather. I have used the bottom edge of a five gallon bucket(the ones that home depot sells) make two marks five inches apart and set the edge of the bucket on both marks. Cut out your template and you are ready to go. Place the masking tape on the feather( this will keep the feather from seperating while you cut and provides a surface to mark out your cut. Have fun
