I was wondering how many of you guys own a pronghorn longbow and your thoughts about how they shoot overall.I just sent a order off for a 58" 52@27" Pronghorn with the basic brown hickory riser and red elm limbs nothing to fancy a pure hunting bow. I also ordered some Morrison Shawnee 56" 52@27" longbow limbs in cross grain brown maple to match my Shawnee 14" Riser nothing fancy there also just good hunting camo. I have really enjoyed shooting a couple of 3 piece longbows I picked up used on the buy/sale forums last several months but one bow was to much weight and another to long AMO for my taste so I sold both to buy these two that fit me perfect.
You really can't do much better than a Pronghorn--Herb makes one of the quietest, straightest shooting bows around. Definitely on the top ten list. A classic.
You are going to be happy. Great bows; quiet and fast. I'm betting lots of TGers will chime in and have good things to say about Herb and his bows.
I've got a 58" 58 @ 28. Probably the quietest bow I've ever shot. Very smooth draw and fast enough.
Groyce did you go with the 13" riser or the 15" riser on your 58" Pronghorn? Herb said he could do both I desided on the standerd 15" riser for more hand grip room plus my 27" draw I was not to worried about needing the extra limb length.
You have great taste. Can't go wrong with a Pronghorn or Morrison. Both are great bows. I do prefer a longer pronghorn. I have two 62" pronghorn takedowns that shoot smooth, quite and fast.
Pronghorns are quiet, smooth to draw, fast,& works of art from a great guy,& bowyer.

I own three of his longbows. They are great bows you will enjoy it no doubt.
I have a T/D Pronghorn that I received from a fellow TG'er while mine is being built. Great bow...quiet, fast and smooth and shoots exacty where you point it.
Anyone know the current wait time for a new bow order?
Josh
Steel, I traded into a 3 pc Pronghorn very similar to yours, 58", 54 @ 26, Dymondwood and elm. I like it a lot and plan to hang on to it. Good speed, very quiet and easy and comfortable to shoot with no bad habits that I can notice. :archer:
Josh, I placed my order last month and Herb said it would be 4 months. Fred
I was told around 4 months also and the basic wood bow was very fair priced in todays market.
I just bought one from a Close friend. Outstanding in every way..........
Can't go wrong with a Pronghorn, simply awesome bows. I'm about to order another set of limbs for mine, which will make three, 45# 50# and 56# at my draw.
Anyone have any good Pronghorn longbow pictures?

Here's the top limb and part of the riser, anyhow. Osage limbs.
One of the few bows I really regret selling. It was a horrible green-dyed hickory riser, with green dyed limbs 60" & 57#@28
Why I sold it I can't recall, but one day I'll order a 62" replacement!

Hey great pictures I have a question for you pronghorn guys are they cut to center ? And they are r/d right ?
Very quiet, smooth, plenty quick and shoot where you look. An outstanding bow all the way around.
I wish mine was a few pounds lighter, but it shoots so good now.....
How do his red elm limbs compare to actionboo?
Mine is up for sale in the classifieds
