Title: Swan headed English Longbow???
Post by: Northwest_Bowhunter on May 17, 2010, 07:07:00 PM
About 25 years ago while in Scotland, I bought an English longbow from a company that created 6' long swan header longbows.  I bought one but after the service I fell on hard times and had to sell it.  I was wondering if anyone recognizes this description.  It was made of lemon wood, had horn nocks the top one shaped like a swans head.  It was clear fiberglass backed.  I want another one so badly because the guy I sold mine to sold it to a guy he knows who still owns it.  I want to buy another so I can trade him (he won't sell it).

I don't know of any swan headed bows, but   KG ARCHERY (http://www.kgarchery.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_22&products_id=36)  bowyer, Keith Gascoine builds something you might like.

Get a hold of Jay St. Charles.  He makes yew longbows and knows quite a few of the folks who do too.  I warn you when you see his it might be difficult to resist.
