Knowing the bow was on it's way, I figured it would arrive during the week. This night, I even dreamed about it (again). Today, after lunch, I spoke with the guy in charge of incoming shipments. Told him: "If you receive a long package this week, it is probably mine. And it's been a long time comin'." - to my surprise, he told me that such a package already arrived early this morning, and that my father had already taken it to his office. So, I rushed up to my fathers office. My father was not in sight, but... the package was there! I could barely withstand just tearing the package open, buuut I managed to get a hold of myself. Instead, I decided to share my excitement here on TradGang.
All there's left for me to do, is to work for a couple more hours, before I can finally get home and behold(!) the sight of my new bow!
:bigsmyl:
Unlike you, I can't wait to see it :p
Well, neither can I :D
The bow is 64" long and pulls 70# @ 30". The riser is made of Ebony. Limbs are Padauk with Boo core, with siyahs of East Indian Rosewood. I'm extremely anxious to see the outcome of this wood combo.
:banghead: :coffee:
Waiting !!!!!! :saywhat:
:coffee:
:scared:
Will be home in about an hour. Pics will be taken and uploaded ASAP.
tick tock, tick tock, Man! Time just drags with .........a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n.......
I guess I'll wait..lol
God bless,Mudd

:bigsmyl:
Photos please!
A few difficulties occured. Pictures will be posted tomorrow instead. Sorry to disappoint.
I can tell you one thing, though... the bow looks... AMAZING!!!
awww dude thats not eve funny. :knothead: :banghead:
I know, and it is much against my will, having to wait until tomorrow. I promise the pics will be up tomorrow! The bow is unlike anything I have ever seen before.
:archer:
Hey Gordy..
How did you get all my relatives together?
LOL ! .... I guess we have the same relatives ! :biglaugh:
I weighed the bow yesterday. It weighs only 17,6oz. That's what I call a light bow!
Pictures will be up and running when I get home from work.
Oh here we go again ! .... :banghead:
Andreas,
Going on how long it has taken to get your Saluki, mine will be another 6-8 months....!
Post your pictures mate..! It will keep me going for a little while longer..
How does she shoot...?
Cheers Guy..
Guy,
Took me a full year. But then again, I did have some special requests for woods. I think it was worth the wait. Not sure about the performance yet, I didn't have time to shoot when I got home yesterday :banghead:
Right now I am at 14 months for the two bows that I have coming from Saluki , pretty sure that I will have one of them in the next month or two. I hate the wait but good things sometimes take time.
TFB I do not think you will be at all disappointed with your new bow's performance, all the Saluki bows that I have shot were smoking the arrows.
Oberon I can only imagine the performance you will be getting out of that Crab Bow. I can't wait to see it so I can only imagine you are getting a wee bit anxious to shoot it.
Capt.. I am really anxious for this one as it has been a dream bow since I was an early teenager. But am also anxious for the hybrid bow that I ordered from Lukas just shortly after I ordered the crab horn composite bow. I have seen a video of Lukas shooting a 65# horn crab bow on youtube and it was launching the arrows like a rocket , my crab horn bow will be in the 80# range so I am guessing that it could burn the feathers off LOL.
Congratulations! I am so anxious to see the pictures....
John Havard listed an IBEX for sale in the classies. I'm just saying....
I've owned 2 Saluki's and the performance was phenomenal! Great bows, great craftsmanship. Lukas is an exceptional bowyer to deal with. Congrats and GET THOSE PICS POSTED!!!! :bigsmyl:
Where are the pictures? :banghead:
Just received an email from Lukas this afternoon and he says that the wait for my crab horn bow should not be much longer and that it is 75# at my thumb ring draw of 29"
Oberon-Great News. It is great that it is your dream bow. I can only imagine the performance you will be getting from that bow.
awww...i thought he had a new suzuki..    :archer2:
No new Suzuki for me! :banghead: ), I figured I'd accept.
Today, I have lots of time when I get home. Will take pics, and even run some arrows through the bow. I guarantee, the pictures will be up today, around 12 AM server time.
Oberon,
I am totally getting a hornbow when I get older. It is one of my dreams too.
Andreas,
12 months would be a long time to wait if you didn't have a bow one shoot in the mean time...!
I have a few bows to choose from at the moment, so it doesn't bother me too much...
From what you are describing, the Saluki is definitely worth the wait....!
By the way I have been waiting all day to get home and see the pictures... :(
Cheers Guy.. :)
Guy,
Luckily, I did have a bow to shoot meanwhile. Else the waiting time would have been... deadly. Sorry about the pictures. They will come up today, for sure.
TFB the horn bows I have shot were a real treat an animal all to themselves.
TFB,,, photos please.
im starting to think your bluffing :banghead:
Bluffing? No way! I even shot the bow yesterday. Shoots like a charm. I did as promised; took the pics when I got home yesterday :banghead:
Will bring it home and transfer the pics to the computer. I'm kind of a rookie at uploading pictures though. A little guidance would be nice.
Dude your killing us here..........
Just resizing and they will be up in a sec...
:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Pics moved to first page!
Double post :)
That bow is Awesome! I love the riser inlays. I'll bet she's a real shooter, and worth the wait. Congrats!! :notworthy: :clapper: :archer2:
Darn nice!!
Oh she's a shooter. I was amazed at the arrow speed I got yesterday, shooting 10GPP arrows. And I don't even think I got it to full draw, as I haven't shot for a while. Still managed to hit the bullseye a few times.
Awesome!! It was almost worth the wait...lol Actually, it was worth the wait.
Thanks for sharing!
God bless,Mudd
PS: Almost forgot to ask. Is it shot off your hand like a self bow?
Very nice!
Mudd,
I aim to please! And for your question... yup, this way I can also shoot the arrow with a thumb ring, off the right side of the bow. I originally requested a shelf, as this is what I'm used to on my longbows, but shooting off the hand doesn't bother me at all.
By the way...
The bow looks awesome at full draw. The string angle is ridiculously low, even at a long draw of around 32". If anyone is interested, I'll have my father snap a full draw picture when I get the chance.
Absolutely!.. post all the pictures you can of it.
I hope you do a couple of pictures at full draw, some with whatever you use when not using a thumb ring and with the thumb ring as well.
God bless,Mudd
Very nice looking bow! Just curious how did you get so many deers within a day? :biglaugh:
I bet you'd like to know that :goldtooth:
Very classy bow, congrats!
That is a very ,very good looking bow, is it the Damascus model?
Don't forget the full draw pics.
Thank you everyone. The bow is, indeed, lovely.
Oberon, it's the Genghis model. Reason? Well... I like the Mongols :)
Won't forget the full draw pics. If I get the chance, I'll snap a few today.
Uhhh nice new toy.
Tillykke med den.
Jo tak! :)
Andreas,
Mate, what an unbelievable looking bow...! and from all accounts a great shooting bow as well...! If that was my bow, I would find it very hard not to be staring at it all day long...! :biglaugh:
Have fun shooting it..
Cheers Guy..
Thank you very much Guy ;)
I actually do stare at it everytime I get the opportunity. Also, now that the weather is so great, I get to shoot it a lot!
Let me know when you got YOUR bow!
Andreas
Andreas,
Mate, we have great shooting weather at the moment too... I had a few shots this afternoon and all is looking good..!
I will let you know when the Scythian finds its new home... :goldtooth:
Cheers Guy
Ooh, Scythian? Nice! I plan on getting a Scythian hornbow, when I get older (and richer!). I like the design.
Pictures moved to first post, for conveniency.
As promised, a FULL DRAW picture!

Drawing it to around 32".
Great looking bow!
nice looking bow bud
Full draw causes full drool!
Great looking bow, all the way around.
God bless,Mudd
WOW-talk about a nice looking bow. All set up for a thumb ring with no shelf.
:goldtooth:
Thumb ring shooting is awesome. Sometimes, I'm more accurate with a thumb ring, than I am with a three-finger release :)
nice bow bro....im envious :p
Beautiful bow.How bout the low down on all of those roe deer antlers?
Eric: It's really nice, indeed. Performs as good as it looks!
Izzy: Well... all those are my fathers doings :D
A few years from now, I too will have a wall looking just like that!... hopefully.
That is an absolutely stunning bow!!!
Realy nice bow.
Thank you guys! I still randomly pick it up at times just to feel it. For a bow of this poundage, it is VERY physically light. Weighs exactly 1½ pound. Launches heavy arrows with great authority.
It's mine. My own. My precious :bigsmyl:
That bow is one of the nicest I've seen.
How do you like the ray skin?
Is it rough on the hand?
I have something from Lukas due this fall.
Dave
:)
I love the ray skin. Besides looking awesome, it gives you an incredibly firm grip. It's not rough at all, as you might expect. If you're thinking about getting it - do it! It's truly great.
:archer:
WOW!!!!!!
