well real close with the turkeys and the closest i have ever come to being bit!! will update shortly!
the morning sounded promising as there was a tom roosted right where he should be! gobbled a few times from the roost and then shut up. about that time i could here something behind me walking around and was sure it was a coyote from the way he was going back and forth trying to ctach wind of me. well when i turned back around the other way here comes another coyote full bore right at me and stops at around 10 yards! i stood up and said ger out of here!! he jumped back another 5 yards and the hair on his back and neck stood up, he then started walking right at me. now i hate to shoot ANYTHING out of season BUT this was TO CLOSE and he was not kidding. at 5 yards again he quaterd away and i drew, just then he caught my scent and turned tail, WOW was that close!!!! really thought i was going to have to put an arrow in him.
Bowspirit in his guille hat that he made. more later gotta work.

He would have surely got an arrow around these parts. The season here is year round and they are straight killers to livestock!!! They kill alot of sheep around here. (You all know how us Marines like our sheep)lol. When we see em, they get it!!!
same here our rabbit pop.has suffered because of people not trapping or hunting them anymore
Chris [Bowspirit] you gotta hide your hands and your arrows.......other than that  !
Hey Chris... Maybe you can put some little pink bows in your hat! ;) Good job buddy!
... mike ...
Haha...good one, Mikey. Unfortunately, the hat isn't finished yet. Just thought I'd pull it out for a test run.
Ron, that was my stumping arrow. Everything else is covered by a fletch cover. As for the hands...couldn't find my gloves. Was hoping some blind jake would wander by... :bigsmyl:
Glad we didn't use you to the yotes, Ken. Forgot to tell you that on the way back, a large tom walked across the road in front of that farm by your place. I just slowed to a stop and commented about how that's pretty much my luck...
I have had the same luck with the coyotes they have chaseed off birds twice on me this year. I had them dogging though might decoys opening morning but no shoot. No season here on dogs in fact you get paid $20 to shoot them and with lambing season most rachers will throw in another $20. Great story keep it coming. :coffee:
more shortly but here is a short video for the crazy mail lady, the ole crumuddgen!

I have seen you eat,no way was there enough bacon in that pan for the both of you!!!!! :biglaugh:
Ken: called in a bear once just like your coyote. is that a bear burn to attract one of them now!!!! :scared:
Ron,
dam man ya know me to well!!! i auctually made 3 POUNDS of bacon!! at one point Chris said ya got to stop taking video for people i can't eat any more bacon!!!!
Stick,
i poured grease out 3 times, i would bet the farm the ground will be torn up next time i go up there, lots of bear and yotes!
the whole time we were eating ( bout an hour ) we could hear a tom gobbling just down the mountain, a real loud mouth! was some nice music to eat breakfast to! when we finished eating we decieded to go after him. snuck in pretty close and set up. didn't take much to get his interest and he was coming to us! then we heard the worst thing a turkey hunter can hear when you have one coming in, thats right a low down dirty hen!! well he gobbled to me, her and in another direction, got himself all kinds of bothered! at one point he was in view of Chris but just to far out. he got to about 40 yards of me but could not see him!!! he had to be gobbling for a good 1 1/2 hours and we just could not close the deal!!! man what a time, to just be able to play the game with bow in hand is a win to me and this morning will be remembered for a long, long time! and when deer season rolls around Mr. Yote will not be so lucky!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome Guys! I'll remember the breakfast bit come fall bear season. I'll be around this weekend looking for Toms. Let me know if you guys are interested.
Pretty cool brother, thanks for sharing.
I smell BACON! BaconbaconbaconbaconBACON!!!
Dang. I gotta find some time to go cook some bacon somewhere green and quiet. Uploading video now to Photobucket for the BBTC thread. I heard a bird that I should recognize, but can't bring it to mind. Got a video for the sound. Gonna be a while, so I better turn in. I'll run it by y'all when I get done tomorrow.
Sure is nice to have folks think about you when they are in the places where they go for thinking good thoughts. An honor, really.
