Title: which is better?
Post by: daniel reynolds on May 15, 2010, 12:45:00 AM
It seems that the broadheads I like the most are only availiable in glue-on.Are there any advantages and or disavantages with hunting with adapters and glue-ons as compared to factory screw-in models as far as tuning and strength. And also what type glue is best? And also I cannot make up my mind on what head to shoot. There are to many choices.Hey brothers give me some feedback on what you have found to be the best combo for you.

I personally like the glue on style so I can be more veratile with the adapter weights.
Also if I were to break the adapter shank I can replace it with the same broadhead.

I used glue on wensels 125 with steel adaptors for a couple seasons as well as 190 grain Grizzly El Grandes with steel adaptors. Liked both set ups but did have a few adaptors break when hitting animals. I used instagel and no problems there. This yr I am using Steelforce 225 grain screw ons and like it better bur just MO

Yep, me too. Never had a problem yet (well, not sice 3 rivers changed the design of the 75gn adapters)
I use either Devcon 2-ton, hot melt, fletch-tite or superglue, whichever I find on the basement floor first  :D

Unless it's a completely machined head, of which there are only a few, someone else has already glued in a insert to make it a screw-in before you buy it.
