Title: griz sticks and ashby broadheads
Post by: SuperSlamChaser on May 12, 2010, 07:20:00 PM
I hope deer season gets here sooner than usual because I got my griz sticks and ashby broadheads in today and I can't wait to see what kind of damage this combo can do!

Anyone have any idea of a target I can shoot with these broadheads? Because it tore my deer target up big time!

Love them Grizzly sticks.Fast becoming my favorite arrow next to an exceptionally straight, footed hexpine.

I shoot the Alaskan shafts and they have worked great for me.  Muzzy Phantoms worked for me on hogs here in Oklahoma.  Haven't got to see them work on a deer yet.

Rinehart 18-1 it is then! I plan on getting a beef shoulder and doing a test sometime this week if the tornadoes don't blow me away!   :scared:
carparcher- Where do you hunt hogs at? Maybe we could work something out because I've always wanted to get a hog, but I don't know anyone that has hogs!

Does anyone know what the spine deflections are for Dr. Ashby's tests with extreme foc arrows and 40# vs 82# bow.  He says they are tuned but does not elaborate on how they are tuned.  I wonder if the high foc ones are also stiffer and therefore penetrate even better than just higher foc would account for.

If I am not mistaken he uses the lightest stiffest that will tune correctly.  He mentioned using GT Ultralights but not sure the exact ones.

However, the GT Ultralights do seem to work really well when maximizing FOC.
