It seems that my turkeys where I hunt have had me scoped out! They just know my effective shooting range and have been coming in just on the out side of that! 4 out of the last 6 days out, i have had birds come in to my setups only to stay just out of range!! What a blast!! My family wants me to use other means of harvesting them, just to get one like I used to do!! NOT!!I made the switch to trad several years back and I'm here to stay, It isn't about the kill(that would be just a bonus) It is all about the hunt now to me!! I realize that when I made the switch that I wouldn't get my two birds a year like I used to! I have to say that I'm having the best time hunting I have ever experienced! Now I have to get tough with them!! Tomorrow is another day!!!
This is my first year at attempting to harvest a turkey with a bow. Had a hen come in at about 20 yards the other day, but the tom hung up and wouldn't come in. It seems like it may prove difficult, but it is still a blast.
Keep at it, persistence pays off!! Good luck
Thanks Curt, I know sooner or later I'll connect, I just have to rethink my setups some! Tomorrow i'll try something alittle different!

Turkeys 21, Mudd zero! That's the way my season ended. I am very satisfied just the same, I had a great time chasing them.
I don't think I'll ever be chasing them with anything other than my bow again. It was such a great time and now that I have my blind on my bow maybe I will be able to get off a shot without getting busted. I know the coyotes that were at my decoys never saw anything that bothered them other than two stupid looking hens that weren't moving even with the coyotes at a foot or so away from them. I think the coyotes picked up on the fact that something wasn't right and left. But I had plenty of opportunity to send an arrow their way as they hung around for a few minutes trying to figure out "What's up with these girls?"
God bless,Mudd
