My new PCH is here...delivered to my WORK...can't open it at WORK (crap canada sucks for security crap).
Then my arrows show up from Texas from Alex...
AND I'M WORKING.....
Pics to come. Sorry can't take any pics yet.
Jer Bear
Lol, I feel your pain ^^ Looking forward to the pics of your big smile once you get to shooting it later :)
 Sometimes thats what happens!
So here's some pics and a small video....I think the string is messed up though....it's only 51.75" long for a 58" bow.....NOW I REALLY WILL GO NUTS.
Just opening the box

Pics of string length
(http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg163/jerbearyukon/IMG_5556.jpg)
strung it and it has a brace height of 10.5 inches..can un-wrap the string anyfurther...they screwed up the length of the string...the package says 56" though.
jer bear...so I still can't shoot her
Package says 56 inch string....hmmmm
(http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg163/jerbearyukon/IMG_5559.jpg)
:banghead:
Jer Bear
Pretty sure the sting is for a 56" bow.....They talked me into a 58" bow at the last minute and they probably never checked the actual bow length they just looked at the order and through the 56" in.
Honest mistake...I am sure that the actual length of a string for a 58" bow should be around 54" and this one is around 52" which would make it right for a 56" bow.
Still makes me crazy though I WANT TO SHOOOT HER...urggg...jer bear
Well, I gotta say, that is hands down, my favorite black widow riser. I love the white in it.
Beautiful bow. The black and white looks better than the usual black and red for me.
Don't sweat the small stuff. A string can be replaced.
Most archers would give up an organ for a bow like that.
Yeah I know...i am very pleased, but I can't build my own strings i don't have the stuff and no time to get one from anywhere before I leave on Friday morning.
Thanks guys- I love it too. Wasn't wanting the red...just too many like that already and is I was going to pay extra I wanted something that really blended into nature...I think we hit it.
On another note.....Well the strings came wrong...measured both they are 52" give or take.
BUT AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
When I got my WHITE ELEPHANT from Bill Shaw there was a string in there.....hmmm wonder what length it was (55"). So twisted the heck out of her and got it to work for now. think it's a B50 string...but I don't care....I can get the right ones on my trip somehow.
Well MUDD (cause I know you will chime in here somewhere). The LORD (as you put it) works in mysterious ways.
They shipped me the wrong ones...but I had one I could use just didn't know it...amazing
:bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
jer Bear
I love that riser. The white was a great touch.
Great looking PCHX you have there.
One good looking bow right there!
Thats a beauty!
Did the string myself except (I) ordered it wrong thinking I was ordering string length rather than AMO.....I'm sure you are itching to shoot it!
congrats

That is really sharp Jerry. I bet you are going to enjoy it. Do you have pictures of the back of the limbs...like to see that curly maple.
I got the call today, pick mine up next week! :goldtooth:
yea...that white is really sharp.
Fine piece of furniture right there.
Very nice, very nice!!!
That is one of the sexiest handles ive ever seen on a bow. Wow hope it works out for you. Good luck.
VERY NICE!! I'm really diggin' the white.
Honestly I'm not a big fan of the looks of the Black Widows but that one changed my mind. Great looking bow.
I finally got a string on her - one that I got from the white elephant swap.
Then I ate supper (fast than usual - felt like a little kid again..ok still).
Loaded her in the pinz on my rod rack that I made for my bows...this works slick.
I was wandering around and ended up at the 3d range...it was late and nobody around so I just went for a stroll..this will be a mixture of pics adn vids so be patient.
Shot lots tonight...IT WAS SO GOOD TO GET OUT.
First shot with her (it' gets worse, but this is encouraging. Not sure of the distance (ended up being 17 paces though)

Jerry, you are right, your bow is different and I really like the lighter color impression it has.I get 3 Widows that are much darker, you have set a new standard.Enjoy it.

Just waiting for the pics and vids to upload.

more to come tomorrow...gotta get some sleep..
Had a great time tonight....thanks for following along and I will finish up tomorrow.
Again I am not blaming BW for the string...we changed the order for LENGTH three times so it was an honest mistake...just glad the White Elephant looked after me.
jer Bear
Nice Bow. Like the white. I was trying to find a picture of a honduras rosewood widow. I ordered a 60" psa in honduras rosewood. should have it in a week or so. Thanks for posting. >>>> RAY
How cool is this? Way!!!
I am happy for you Jerry. It also brought a smile to my face that you could see the hand of providence at work. God is good, all the time!
That has to be one of the finest "M&M's" I've ever seen. I bet this coming season will prove me correct too. It's impressive how good your shooting is with it and it will only get better with time.
Congratulations friend!!!!
God bless,Mudd
PS: "M&M"= Meat Maker
SWEEEEEEEET! :bigsmyl:
Did you call up BW and tell them?
Cool pictures Jerry, thanks for going to all that trouble. Really like your bow. Nice 3-D range, it must be great to have that kind of facility to shoot at.
My bow should look fairly close to yours, Brazilian Rosewood with white accents and stripes on the riser and Waterfall Bubinga limbs. I did not get the maple on the back of the riser. Done next week, but cannot go to Nixa until Saturday...because of work.
Sweet, sweet bow and excellent shots! Congratulations with your new bow!
...
Triple post! Silly computer.
I would like to thank James Emmons - he contacted me to see if he could build me some strings bless his heart.....I explained that Roger was looking after it adn that it was an honest mistake.
TERRY GREEN - I will have some more strings for you though (2 more).
MUDD - thanks buddy...she is sweet alright
Frassettor - yipper I phoned 'em and it's going to be too late to get the strings here before I leave on Friday so they are going to ship them where i am heading...Roger is looing after me as I knew he woudl...just explaining the situation is all.
Dan - Yeah it's nice alright...don't go there much cause I love to stump shoot, but when i go I don't shoot usually from where the markers are...like to sneak through the bush being quiet and then take a harder shot.
That being said I wasn't too quiet last night..TOO EXCITED..
jer Bear
Some more pics and vid - SORRY just excited to be shooting again.
SO this is an uphill about 35-38 yards...I set up the vid and then have to run down the hill (be patient). I am breathing hard - trying to shoot quick so the video isn't very big.
What I was impressed with was how quiet the bow is...i am sure I can make it more quiet yet though with the hush gear on a new string.
(http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg163/jerbearyukon/th_MVI_5629.jpg) (http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg163/jerbearyukon/?action=view¤t=MVI_5629.flv)
not the best shooting (you can see the broadhead aren't grouping with the field points - probably just me - the filed point have a bit of a wobble..but the BH are shooting real nice out of her...but it will get better after I settle into it fine tune it and take more time :)
Next up turkey - this is a lonnnnnnnng shot but I did fairly well i think..first shot in the money second shot glanced of the right side of him.

Congratulations, Jerry thats a fine bow.
Good luck

thats got to be the nicest widow ive ever seen!
come on jerry anyone can shoot a bear thats tied to a tree.
WOW!!
Absolutely gorgeous bow! Your archery range ain't too darn shabby either. That has to be the coolest archery range I have ever seen. Just scenery around your range is something to behold. Can I come and visit?
That is one sweet bow. I have never even seen a widow in person but I have lotsa pics of them on my computer to enjoy and I don't mind telling you that your bow is going to be added to them for me to enjoy lots more times. I might take them up on just trying one out for a week.
Can't wait to see more pics and a full range report on her.
Keep 'em coming.
congrats.
Nalajr
thanks fellas - hey plumber it's not that easy actually.....They wiggle more when they are tied up than if they are just doing a good rub :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Nala - yes it's a great range - yes you can come -make it quick heading to Costa Rica soon.
I LOVE THIS BOW.
jer Bear
Ok I have a few moments to add to the 3d range trip last night.
Thanks again to all for your warm wishes and encouragement....it really helps to know you have my back..like I would have yours.
So next up was a tough shot on a bear through the trees....again this is not the course shot...but who would want to do that...hmmm

Three shots at the wolf. Getting hard to see at 30 yards for me....not trying to make excuses but since I had my cataract surgery on my dominant eye they matched the lense to my other eye which has a cataract starting. So my vision isn't up to snuff at 30 yards if I really want to pinpoint a shot.
Have to look into some one vision contacts or something.
Well that's all I have for last night...a finally video to close it all out..

Jer Bear
Realy cool bow and some good shooting .
Thanks thumper....the bow is awesome...my shooting will improve I am sure.
I think I am shooting pretty well for the first night though.
SOme fine tuning with the right string will help lots and some time in the field.
Like Fred Asbell says when asked how good can a person shoot..." how well can you concentrate" that is the key and sometimes I don't really HONE IN...
Off to bed...good night
Jer bear
Beautiful bow, Jerry!
SO I guess my acs is ready now - going to get it shipped to Layton Perry in Montana cause it won't get here on time.
Figure this one out....BW sends me 56" string for a 58" bow...honest mistake we went back and forth about the length a few times.
GET THIS..my ACS I was going to cancel due to some other reasons but I guess I will keep it....
GUESS WHAT THE LENGTH IS?
You gotter - 56"...60# @ 28"
AMAZING how things work out...just be nice to have a recurve and a longbow in my life again.
Cheers Jer Bear.
Will also be interesting to hear similar feedback with regard to new short ACS design.
Really nice bow, Jer! Very cool.
yipper I will post some stuff when I hit the road on the 13-14 of may.
I will be in edmonton alta till then

This thread Jerry?
This is the one that disappeared. Just do a search for "acs" during the past 5 days on the Powwow board and it will be there. Not sure why or how it disappeared.
