I know you can't see much, but isn't that the point.
This photo is taken from looking directly at my bow, blind and DB seat. I just made this yesterday and I didn't see or hear a turkey this morning so I can't report how well it worked.
I'm betting it will.
Thanks for looking.
God bless,Mudd

I sure wouldn't put any money on it not working.
Looks the part to me,,,what I can see of it,,LOL.
Can you give more details? Side view pics?
Thanks
These may not be the best ever photos but I think you'll be able to see how I constructed it. It's made of what I call rabbit cage wire and two small metal plates sandwiched welded to it with a hole drilled in it to allow it to be bolted to a stabilizer insert. I used one of 3 Rivers "Gadget attachment" thingys to mount it on my MOAB.
When I was building it, I didn't measure anything I just went by sight and judgment about how it should look.
I measured it so I could tell folks that It's 30" tall, 20" wide. It sits on the bow with approximately 1/3 of it below the point of attachment and about 1/3 of it to the bow hand side. The sight window is 4"W and 6"T.

how cool is this? very innovative mudd.
Very nice.
what is the weight of it?
How cool is that?way!
That's one of the best blinds ideas I've seen. That'd work awesome in deer season too.
I know it ads some weight(2.38#) to the bow but it's not terrible and a heck of a lot lighter than my double bull.
God bless,Mudd
Nice work, I like it. These bow blind ideas are very intriguing.
Roy that's a great idea! :archer: :goldtooth:
Very nice!
More photos... off the bow

Total cost... about 6 bucks (not including the strap on gadget attachment)
God bless,Mudd
I like it!
Mudd, that thing looks great  . I was just telling someone yesterday one of the reasons I love going trad is you're so free to make as much or little as you want. The ingenuity you all show is incredible. Way to go!
Jeremy
:archer:
Cool idea.
Cool idea.
Mudd,
That looks really good. When you come up, be sure to bring it with you.
Looks good Mudd!Just dont set your bow down in the woods and walk off or it will be a goner!LOL!
Are those limb covers I see? How do you find they work? Do they stay in place OK?
Very cool Mudd! Good luck!
Mudd-
too cool! excellent work! thanks for the pics.

Mudd
That is usin your nogin! Well done!
I will give you a report after this last week of season.
I am proud of how I've hunted so far even without a bird to show for it. I can honestly say even when I had birds close enough to have killed them with a shotgun but no shot with the bow not once did the thought cross my mind wishing I had the shotgun in hand instead of the bow.
God bless,Mudd
PS Thanks for the kind words.
Mudd, you may be the only one who has ever done anything like that. Cool! Very Ingenius!
cool idea and well executed!! please keep us inform of how well it performs. Thanks for sharing
I've done something very similar before. Worked good. Attaboy Mud..... :archer:
Dope your wife know you used her imitation plant from the porch? Pretty cool - keep us updated.
Super job on that Mudd, blends in extremely well. Ive seen others do similar things, but question how well they would work. While it hides your draw arm movement, ANY movement of your bow makes that blind move that much. So the bird does not see your hand going straight back, but he does see 5sq ft of something move a few inches. Please keep us posted on how well it works out though.
Mudd, you're a genius.............if it works you'll have to market it!
Now......let us know how it shoots with that contraption attached to it!
Like KumaSan said.......I hope you went to Walmart to get those fake plants and didn't find a more appropriate use for one of the wife's!!!!
It'll work, no doubt Mudd
Couple questions....
You triple the weight of your bow when it's on, how does that "feel"?
How do you carry your bow when it's on?
How do you carry it when it's off?
I don't have any problem with the weight. I just carry it on the bow.
I carry my chair,my arrows and my back pack with straps over the shoulder and my bow in my hand.
I'll get my wife to get pictures of what it looks like when I head to the woods.
God bless,Mudd
Looks like a money maker right there boss! I'd look into a patent lawyer and a "Made in America" sticker. Yee ha!
How does looking thru that little hole at your target affect your shooting. Looks real good!
Your actually so close to the opening your view isn't a problem.
God bless,Mudd
Clever - out of the box thinking- congrats. Appears to be workable in alot of situations--- I love the simplicity of it. Is there no attachment to the upper limb, say a strap to the upper part of the site window? Does it rattle when you shoot?
No strap and no noise. It actually made the bow quieter. I am very please with how it came out.
God bless,Mudd
PS: I decided to add to this post rather than a new one. It's 4:30 am and I'm off to chase turkeys again so I hope I can give you some proof it'll work.....lol
Have a blessed day!
Mudd
that is one sweet innovative bow blind. Truely a hunters mind at work here.
Very nice
There was a guy in Tupelo Ms that sold a similar item for confound shooters in the late 90's. Not sure if he is still in business. his threaded into the stabiliser hole and folded like a tree umbrella. Good job
I lowered the overall weight of it by cutting out some of the wire. It seems to work as well without the entire panel and is considerably lighter.
God bless,Mudd
Wow Mudd:
I like this even better than the youtube vid I saw of a guy that covered his draw arm with a quiver blind apparatus.
Very nice.
Tim
Just like "Camo Arrows". You Shoot Them, and then CANNOT Find them because they BLEND into the Woods so Well!! My Luck, I would set it down, and Never SEE it again!! :readit: :archer2:
Great work Mudd.. How is the plate attached to the welded wire? It looks tack welded in place..?
It has no effect on the limbs whatsoever. The bow does seem a little quieter with it on.
There are two small plates that are welded together with the wire sandwiched in between. I will be cutting out more of the wire to lighten it up even more.
I bet if you can braze, it would work as well as welding. I think there are some small torches that will reach temps needed for brazing that aren't nearly as expensive as a welder.
God bless,Mudd
What a great idea!
Sure beats that silly thing that was in all the hunting mags a few years back that was similar in design but was a 2x2 or larger sheet of mylar. It reflected very well and the idea was it blended perfectly with every enviroment because it reflected that enviroment back. I could only imagine what a giant mirror mounted on the front of your bow would do when it hit sunlight???
Your idea is sweet!
Hey Mudd,
it`s been a while .....
I like that thing :clapper:
Shoot straight :archer2:
and keep us updated.
Daniel
It has been a while Daniel. Where have you been?
I think I can say my blind works even though I didn't get a turkey.
I had two coyotes at one time that I counted coupe on and neither one ever knew I was anywhere around.
Welcome back my friend!
God bless,Mudd
If it'll fool the coyotes, it works. Good goin' big guy.
I like
Very cool mud, might have to try making one of those.
Thanks
Josh
