Mentioned to Barry Wensel the other day that I shot over the back of a nice buck last fall. He said, "Lower your tree stand..."
If I did that I'd be huntin in China! :D
:biglaugh:
:banghead:
Now why didn't I think of that?
That Barry is a funny man.......... :biglaugh:
Reminds me of a situation, probably ten years or more ago, at a 3-D tournament. I'd just totally blown a shot--don't remember if I shattered an arrow or just sent it off into the wild blue yonder. I was having one of those days where nothing was right, and I was really trying to anylize the shot. My buddy, who was in the group, said (in a concerned tone) "I know what you did wrong." Well of course I wanted his feedback--not only because I was doing so poorly, but because he was the best shot I knew at the time.
I said "Well tell me--what is it?" He looked me dead in the eye and said "YOU MISSED, STUPID!" I quit asking him for help after that.........
Bozara,
That style of shooting is called "trunk walking" and is not legal for traditional archery competitions.
;)
But it does present you with a better shot angle, so while he may have said it in jest it may be something to think about...
Yep, Barry's smarter than he looks. You would do well to listen to what he has to say.
Yup...when the Wensel's speak, I listen....cause I know that more often than not my side will be cramped up from laughing when they're through talking!
