I roosted 3 birds tonight. I will set up on them first thing. I have to be to work by 7am, but I can hunt until 6:45. I can drive to within 50 yards of where I roosted them, for guy who know my area, it is in the big corn field near the rabbit valley! Wish me luck! Shawn

Waiting for the weekend as well. The entire month of April I'd seen Toms strutting every morning on the drive into work. Didn't see any this morning, wonder why?

Well.. got out this morning for my annual one day (one morning) Spring Turkey hunt. Got to my area at 5:30 AM, it was raining hard so I waited it out to 6:30 AM when it finally stopped. Hiked into the woods a 1/2 mile in between two open fields, got set up. About 7:30 AM had a big Tom gobbling back at me for the next hour and half. Must of had hens with him, cause he would not come in. I had not hunted this area before for anything, I noticed two deer slip by me shortly after I arrived at my spot. At 9 AM I had a Doe and her two yearlings, and two other mature deer come in around me, they all meandered and fed  for about a half hour, I stayed so still it was starting to hurt, they were all within 10 to 20 yards of me. I think it was just great! Had a Blast. I definitely have this spot marked for early Archery season this year. For now... there are too many trout that need to be caught!

Good Luck! Guys & Gals!
