Is the Bear Grizzly Fast Flight comaptible? I am not sure and it says nothing on the website. Thanx Travis

The Grizzly comes from the factory with a Dacron string, per the 2010 catalog. The tip overlays are obviously different from the FF compatible models. I do not recommend a FF string on a Grizzly. I have nothing from a factory rep saying it isn't FF compatible, but most bows come witht a FF string. The fact that they put Dacron on the Grizzly tells me something.
I just checked the Bear owners manual and it lists string material for each bow. The Grizzly is listed as Dacron. Do NOT put FF or any other low stretch string material on a Grizzly.
The overlays on my '01 grizzly were the same laminated material as in the handle and it came with a FF string. The replacement string ordered at the same time was also FF. The D97 string I ended up shooting on it didn't cause problems either.
The website says it comes with a dacron string now... there's no reason dymondwood (or Bear equivalent) tip overlays would fail with a low stretch string - it's harder for me to work with a file than fiberglass is.

Dymondwood isn't anymore prone to crushing than fiberglass and there's more material on the Grizzly (and better shaped) than on the SuperK and T/D. If anything the tips on the Grizz are better suited for a low-stretch string.
The only reasoning I can think of is Bear wants to sell their higher-end bows. Specifically say the bow comes with dacron and guys will be more likely to say, "Well gee, maybe I'll spend the extra bit and get the SuperK."
As I said, mine came with FF and the replacement Bear string was also FF; I see no reason the dymondwood overlays aren't FF capable, especially considering that's what other bowyers are using.
YMMV, but the newer Grizz shoots a whole lot better with a low-stretch string (and even better if you reduce the tip width and mass to something more reasonable. There's no way I'm putting a low-stretch string on my '59 Grizz though ;)
