Hey Guys... I found this track and THINK it is a black bear. We are seeing a rapid growth of them in CT... can any of you who regularly encounter these bears confirm this for me??

I would say it's a possibility, but not for sure. Size of the track and distance between tracks are also critical. Without seeing it in person, it's really hard to answer. I'd also look for scat and other sign.
Not the clearest track but it does look like a front foot.
For some reason I think it's not a bear track. It seems to me to be a combination of other tracks.
it sure looks like a front paw to me but it's really hard to tell by the pic.
doesn't scream "bear" to me, but it looks old too... hard to tell size from the pic.
looks more doggish.
if it were a combination of tracks then maybe deer, though ive never really seen deer tracks overlap that perfectly.lol i second it looking canine though, but what we see as the front two toes look like they point to the left alot so its hard to say without size reference. all i can tell ya is in the future compare the size to your palm, usually a bear will be the size of your palm or bigger. dogs generally run close to 3/4 of your palm unless theyre big dogs, like rotts or danes.
Tought one - better if it looked like this.... i keep switching back and forth comparing them. Just can't say "oh yes, its a bear".

Nothing there to reference the size, but at first blush it looks a little doggie to me.
Well I may be wrond but it looks like k-9 to me I think the toes are slightly misplaced. It could be a bear but if so the pad extends right into those needles and what not quite a ways and you've only got the lfet side of a left front track
Woof-woof.
I'm wth Dave...
Either domestic dog or possible coyote track. Hard to tell because the track looks a little old to me............IJ
wolf
Looks bearish to me, all the toes line up pretty straight across.
How many toes do you see. How many does a bear have.
ChuckC
Now that I look at it again,I do see what could be a canine track, with another toe print to the right of the middle toes.It could be a canine track over another track.Bears have 5 toes Chuck, front and back.
