Title: Arrow Help
Post by: barredfeather on April 15, 2010, 06:45:00 PM
:jumper:  Been shooting woods for a long time and thinking 'bout trying aluminums.  I shoot a 62" Rose Oak recurve, 46# and 28" arrow.  Best I can remember, I'm thinking 2016 shaft.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jerry

2016 would fly great, start with a 145 gr. point or even a 175,what I use ,should work good.

I will pile on with a 2nd for the 2016 size.

I have a Rose Oak Wildcat TD 45# and love it and mine shoots both the 2016 and actually the 2018 really well. Depends on what comes out of the arrow can when shooting in the yard.

I agree, 2016 should be fine with right weight up front.

Try to find somebody that might have some to try. My longbow is 45lbs @ 28"(which is my draw) and with 125gr up front, will not shoot a 2016 at all. It actually shoots 1916 left full length, and they spit out like darts. That being said, it also shoots gold tip 1535's(bare shaft even) with 225 up front extremely well(in case your entertaining carbons).
