What was on my mind was a short static recurve with more of a longbow handle that I could shoot off hand with slight to no shelf. I want it slim ..light and very simple.

If your not hung up on the brush nocks.  A Sheepeater Spirit in Trad handle will be just the ticket.

Check out the Black Mtn website.

Go with the sheepeater with the original handle and no shelf.

The heavy static tips can kick like a mule and you will need a ridiculously heavy arrow to calm it down.

Adding mass to the tips to make them static is not the best way to go.

Go with what Mike says and get a true static with SIYAHS and not a recurve with thick tip tip stiffners ! Static tips are awesome.

Hi getstonedprimitivebowhunt, I'm not hunting guy, I go fishing trouts with my '73 Kodiak Hunter bow in Private little lakes. I never hunt with but may be in the future. In Italy hunting with a bow have the same reglement as Rifle hunting, it's necessary a Hunting Licence and must be payd one annual tax. Some season period are open and some stopped, it's depend for the tyoe of animal you want hunts, and most type of animal is always prohibited.... no good idea hunting in Italy.
Bye Carlo
