After years of tagging along with my wife on garage sale Saturdays I finally ran across a find! Long story short, a nice '70-'72 56" 53# Grizzly (flush coin, Grayling mfg) in fantastic shape, a bag of vintage stuff (some bear razorhead bleeders and, I think, at least one Bear modified Zwikey bleeder (the big airplane wing style), a couple gloves and a couple armguards). Also had a no hoop style Quicky quiver, and a set of gold tip carbons that look like they have never been shot. All in all I am pretty pumped about it. Shoots like a dream but I need to make up a flemish string and some silencers.
Wow! What a reward! Got any pics?
Does it look like the lower head?

That looks like it. Big old wing, and certainly not of the 3:1 school of thought..
Let me know if you want to sell or trade for a vintage Bear bow or other stuff.
Congratulations! Now show us the pictures, then you can make at least me holler when you tell me you had to give $20. bucks for it all...lol
God bless,Mudd
I'll get some pics this afternoon.
Congratulations! I have been looking for a 1972 over 50#'s. This leaves me hope! Sounds like a great find.
Sounds like a great find,sweet!
dream about that kind of find every time I pull into a garage sale ... no such luck yet.
Congrats
After some help from a couple fellas on here and our good friend Google, I am fairly certain it is a '69. There is just a hair of limb twist in both upper and lower limbs, but other than that, she is in fine shape! I am happy. Pics in a bit when my wife gets home with the camera.

56" Grizzlies were only made in '68 '69 '70
That means they can be id'd by just the serial number. Very good shooting bow.
Great finds Love yard sales!!
Took some pics with my cell phone, my shoulder is already getting sore from shooting and I am supposed to be taking it easy.... and I took a closer look at the "wing" bleeder blade, not what I thought it was at all. It looks like he bought a bunch of extra bleeders and taped them to the cut up cardboard, and used this extra piece of spring steel as a stiffener for the package.

LPCjon2- you have one of my favorite Reagan quotes in your signature, thanks for making my day!
That is just cool right there! Nice find. Hows she shoot?
Glad to see you got another great deal
Mike the larger piece of steel is for installing the bleeder blades and cleaning the groove in the bear broadheads.
The bow is a '69 as you had correctly found out.
Great find!
