Anybody shoot them? Been eyeing them as they come into the local shop - some pretty strong shooting bows from my little experience. Any feedback on how they hold up?
Great Bow....both recurve and longbow. I've shot them at RMSG, but do not own one. They work!
Mike
I had a recurve for several years, good shooting bow. Sold it when I went to all longbows. They are a more of a "local" bow but built as well or better than any custom I've owned.
Rampart bows are great bows at a great price. The guys at Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear, a sponsor of Trad Gang carry and shoot them. Ken
I shoot a recurve of Johns that I've had for seven years now, no problems at all, very nice bow hits hard very good craftsmanship, nice grip. Check out his three piece longbow they compare very well to the pronghorns, been told they are a little quicker too.
I have a very nice recurve that I received recently from one of our fine TGr's. I really love the grip and it is smooth and extremely well built!
They are great bows. Smooth and quick, well made.
I have shot a bunch of them. Smooth. Quick. Flawless workmanship.
A little more reflex than a Pronghorn LB, with more sculpting in the grip.
Joshua, eventual Rampart owner.
I'm shooting a Rampart 3pc.L/B. Great shooter, excellent craftsmanship. "Buckster" is shooting my recurve. I can't believe I let it go. :banghead:
Never owned one but have examined several and shot a few. I'll likely own one.
Dana,
Well since you let the cat outta the bag... I salute you! :notworthy:
The Longbow I tried of my brother in-laws shoots lights out. Very well made and a quick and quiet bow.

Barry, I'm glad you like it. I'll have another sooner than later.

I bought this second hand 3-piece takedown at RMSG a couple of years back. Great looking bow and great shooter. I also visited with John G. at his shop in the Denver area. He's a super nice guy.
Mike
They are among the best.
I had one, really great shooting bows and I loved the grip on my longbow.
Good to hear. RMSG had a nice one in the other day - was hoping you guys would give me some reasons to be less interested in picking one up.
Ya better jump on it.
oh, I should say that his longbows have a really small grip and throat.
I prefer this, but some people won't like it.
My 3-piece had the bamboo limbs, and man it shot nice with no stack or shock and ya can't beat the price. :goldtooth:
Well, somebody put me out contention and go buy that bow from RMSG. I really can't right now - got a honeymoon and bachelor party to finance. I ALMOST walked out of the store with it yesterday.
The little devil on my shoulder was screaming in my ear, but having just bought a Trees a month ago, just placed an order on a Sarrels. . . 3 bows within 2 months when I just started with trad is a little tough to justify.
If The Clum's @ Rocky Mountain carry them... They have to be good! :archer:
My first bow was a bare bones Rampart Recurve. I have shot several of the top end bows from well known bowyers including some that have a cult like following on this site. The Rampart shot better than most and none beat it. I only sold it after receiving a self graduation present from myself because it was far too nice of a bow to be sitting unused. If anybody I knew purchased one after trying out several different bows, I would tell them they made a smart and great decision.
Ya I second everyone they are very good...
