Hey Ralph, get on the list for a TT. They are the real deal....finest bow I've shot. I have owned a Schafer.. I really liked it, but I prefer the TT. The main difference in the two to me.. is the TT just seems to be slimmer (smaller)in size...just enough weight to shoot well, but not bulky. The grip is the best of any I've owned, quick, no handshock, and quiet. I shoot it better than anything I've shot. I don't think you can go wrong with either, but to me the TT's are special.

I've never shot a Schafer, but I own a TallTines. I love the bow, its smooth, quiet, fast, and plus they're great looking. Brian Wessel is also a great guy to deal with. I love the grip on mine especially the finger ridge.

Shot the Tall Tines at KaZoo. Nice, smooth bow. Nice wood combos. Some of the finish was rough but I know Brian was in a rush to get ready for the Expo. Sounds like they are very similar, Shafer's have an established rep, Tall Tines is establishing one. Good choice to have.

Go with the one you like the looks of best (if you can't try them out). You won't be disappointed either way.

Two FINE gentlemen to work with.

Two outstanding bows.

Many who haven't handled them both think they are very similar.  Lots of differences in the riser and especially the limb design.

I am very glad I got in early on the TallTines.

I have the short riser in both bows. The TT riser is larger and beefier in all areas. If you have already had a Schafer order a TT. The wait wouldn't be as long either.

Both are great bows. While there are some similarities there are also subtle differences both in feel and performance. Having owned both all I can say is you owe it to yourself to try a Tall Tines.

thanks guys and for the pics TJ

the shafer i has was kind of light really for a takedown recurve and i like a lighter mass recurve!

maybe a TT in some lighter wt woods?

does the core woods matter much in the TT?

The riser almost looks like the old S Tips. I noticed it looks like the arrows a bit closer to the hand on the Shafer.

I haven't owned a Shafer, but the Tall Tines is just a fine shooting bow in every respect.  Brian craftmanship and customer service .... TOPS!

I own 2 Schafers, and one TT, with another on order that should be coming pretty soon now.

I got the 1st TT last Oct, and my Schafers haven't been strung since. Grips are a personal preference, and I like the TT grip better than any bow I've ever shot.

Both are excellent bows. It would be nice if you could shoot both, then decide for yourself.

I'll never part with my Silvertips, but the TT is the bow that I pick up and shoot today.
