Ok, just recently the fleshy area between my thumb and index finger is being rub raw by contact from my fletching! I have big hands so I know that has a little to do with it but this was not happening before. I was forced to change the velcro on my arrow rest as it fell of during a pig hunt (mucho rain)! I am shooting an A&H ACS long bow 64" 53# @ 28" brace height 7 1/4. Thanks!!
wear a glove
twist your nocks just a touch
Try tape ?
You can always glue on a piece of leather under the velcro on the shelf to give you a little more clearance.
Dustin's recommendation will probably get you there though.
If the shelf material was a different thickness than before, you will have to adjust your nock point.
maybe you should try switching to left wing feathers, or vise versa.
As Dustin and JC suggested, raise the sting nock. The Velcro is fairly thick and would give the same results as it being nocked too low.
Dustin: I am shooting 4"/4 fletch! I am running out of fletch positions as they say! LOL!
I have 2 small 1/4" cuts on the top of my left hand.
JC: Yes the Velcro is the same thickness as I used before. Maybe a little thinner but not by much!
Coaster500: Try Tape? How do you think I have been shooting the last few days. Duct tape is a wonderful thing!
I guess I am going to put a small piece of leather under the Velcro and see what happens!
Bone, call Dan at A&H. Great folks I'm sure they can help. H
Hand transplant! can you lower you hand on the riser a bit?
Cock feather in? I recently switched to shooting like this after watching masters of the bare bow. That is of course as long as your shooting with it out now :)
I like lpcjon2's idea, a hand transplant-from your hand to mine. You would have no more feather cuts!!
I got Bear hair on mine. It is a little thicker. The fletch still hits my hand occasionally but I have pretty big fletch. My bow is Acs Cx 64 inch, 55 @28. I pull it to 30inches. Gary
Ok I called my Orthopedic Doctor and we are going to do a hand transplant if I can find a smaller hand! Anybody want to contribute to the cause??? :bigsmyl:
Check your elbow position on your drawing hand. make sure your alignment is good that may help. if nothing else has changed mechaniclly it sounds like a form issue.
I have a recurve that touches my hand as well. Never really have figured out why but it shoots good ha ha.
Bonecracker I can get you one at work...LOL You should try the rest change,or go with a leather driving or golf glove
My 4x90 fletchings cut me, too. Not the 3x120, though. Same shaft, same length, same weights, same everything except feathers.
See, I am not the only one with racing track marks on my hand!! I guess you have to man-up as they say to shoot the ACS longbows!
FerretWYO! Randy, I was told I had near perfect form! And if you believe that I have some nice beach front property for sale in Wyoming for ya! LOL! :clapper:
I heard a song once talking about the beaches of cheyenne. I am still looking for them lol.
Well, it seems to be about the shelf. What about the leading edges of the quills? Are they smooth? Are these newer fletched arrows?
I like to smooth mine down with a file or you can burnish down and dab a little glue on. I've shot selfbows for quite awhile, and had the same happen, time to time. Usually a sharp quill, 3 or 4 fletch!
I have shot lately with the cheap mechanics gloves from dollar store, work real good. Maybe your gripping a little higher than norm?
You didn't say, is the arrow flight good? If so, put some super glue on the raw meat, and get shootin!
Good shootin,
Steve
Good news, the hand is healing! I also raised the shelf a little buy putting a small piece of leather under the velcro! Seems to be working like a charm! Here is a pictures of those fast tracts! :bigsmyl:

Kant the bow a little more than you normally do.
Sorry about the spelling.
But I do Kant the bow!!! I promise, I really do!!! LOL!! :banghead:
Sounds like something wrong with the bow. Send it to me and I'll run it thru a thorough 67 point inspection. If any serious flaws are found it may not warrant the expense of returning it. :biglaugh:
