Title: Shaft Selection Help
Post by: Mike Laughlin on April 05, 2010, 10:43:00 AM
Greetings from Cody, Wyoming.  I've been away from archery for a number of years and would appreciate some help in selecting the correct shaft for my new bow.  I bought a Samick Sage
62" TD 40#@ 28". My draw length is 29.5 - 30"
I plan on shooting aluminum arrows with 125 gr. points and 3 5" feathers.  I went to Eastons website and found that 2117 is the shaft they suggest.  Do you think that 2117 might be a little stiff?  I thing that shaft is the one I used to shoot out of my 60# Damon-Howatt Hunter.
Thanks in advance  Mike

Yep,  2117 WAYYYYYY too stiff.  Try a 1916 at your specifications.

I agree, 1916 will work fine.

I shoot 2117 out of my 60#er so try what they said above and go with the 1916

I shoot a 48 lb longbow at my draw length of 29 3/4. I shoot 1916's.   2117 will be way to stiff.
