Today I took a walk behind the house and I saw six Whitetails this evening. The last one that came through, still had half of his rack. Looked like it was an 8 to 10 pointer last fall.
This may be more common further south but here in New York it is very late. Just wondering, anyone else seen one this late in the season before.
I saw a full rack with no velvet in june or july a couple years ago. He was a little guy.
There is a store near me that had captive whitetails for a long time. (too many regulations now) I remember one year a buck in their pen had antlers until late in April. Don`t remember the exact date, but it was towards the end of April.
In the southern Adirondacks I have see bucks with racks in late March, early April. I have also seen bucks with 8"or 9" of horn in velvet on St. Patricks day. They are just like people all different and unique!
Last weekend my wife & I were coming back from going out for dinner. We live in the NW lower peninsula of Michigan and as we took the back way to our house in a residentail area there were three deer standing in the road and as they ran back toward a small chunck of woods the lead deer had a full rack! It was a small 6 point rack, 3x3 for you western people, I'm thinking of going back to get pictures. It may be a doe or maybe a male with some sort of injury to it's gonads. I doubt it can be a normal buck since not 20 miles away my brother shot a deer in December that turned out to be a buck that already dropped it's antlers and I have trial camera pics around the same time that shows a buck that dropped antlers.
Personally, April 13th, but have heard of people seeing them in early May.
We've got two inside our house that keep their rack year round, but they dropped the back 2/3 other their body sometime in November. :smileystooges:
I saw one in late March here in North Texas a 12 point with both sets stiil on his head.

I saw the 6 point about a week and a half after this picture and he still had both sides. Notice the 8 pointer in front.
I was turkey hunting around April 1 about 20 years ago anf saw one that still had both sides.Other than that around the middle of February.
I forget the exact date, but it was early or mid April when I saw a full racked buck in the late 90's.
I saw A 8 point with about 16- 18in spread this morning turkey hunting here in SW Miss.
Hi, I drive the school bus in the moring here in ND and while on the route, I saw one with antlers about 2 weeks ago. I have never seen one that late here in ND.
Mid April one year while roosting turkeys with my son we saw a nice 8pt still carrying.

By the way, PastorHunter, that was good! I like your sense of humor!
I saw an 8pt with his full rack intact in mid March 2009 - almost ran him over on my way to work one morning. That is pretty late to see one hear in MN like that!
April 10th several years ago.
We saw a big 8 point in a field next to a flooded river last weekend. My husband almost drove off the road.
I saw a small 8 point with both sides on yesterday morning.
I have seen them as late as April 15th here in Oklahoma.
I saw a 4 point a few days ago, mid april is the latest i've ever seen antlers
March 12th small 8 pointer others havd droped as early as the last of Dec.
April first this year a dog ran him out of a sub division in Cabell county WV, he ran within 10 yards of my work truck. I could see his 6 point rack real good.

A few years back I saw a nice 8 point the 2nd weekend of April while I was scouting turkeys, 1/4 mile down the road I passed 2 bucks with 6 to 8 inches of velvet.
