Since Trad Gang's annual St. Jude's Auction is fast approaching, I got the OK to post a "St. Judes -- Did you know . . ." fact in order for all TGers to learn more about St. Judes since it is the focal charity.
I will be posting a "Did You Know Fact . . ." about St. Jude's hopefully every day beginning tomorrow, or if not every day, at least every other day. I received several facts from the Customer Service Desk at St. Jude's, but if anyone has a fact they would like to share so I can post, shoot me a (pm) with the details.
Look for ST. JUDES -- Did you know that . . . (Fact #1) tomorrow to learn why this particular charity was chosen by Trad Gang.
I would just like to add my special thanks to Bob W with his ongoing rally to raise $100K this year and to all those "special" folks that do so much before, during, and after the TG Auction – Terry, Rob, Doug, and the many others. As Doug Campbell pointed out in "how the auction works" forum: Have fun, Bid high, Bid often!!
I see that the "COOOOKIES War" is beginning to fester! Bring it on Folks! I hope down the line I will be able to post a "Did you Know Fact" about how the "Cookies" battle cry started. If you want to share, please shoot me a pm.
Will the "did you know" fact be posted on the powwow?
Great idea!!
John III
John III,
I will post it on PowWow unless I am directed to place it elsewhere. But Terry advised me today that St. Jude's has a "free pass."
Recently, I went on the St. Jude's site and I learned so much about this wonderful charity that I didn't have a clue about. I thought it might be to the benefit of all TGers to learn more about this outstanding charity we back.
Thanks!
I happen to be the fortunate grampa of young 5 year old Ethan. This truly tremendous young man was suppose to be stillborn. The plot was paid for, the headstone was engraved. The Doctors said, there is no chance. For some fortunate reason, God gave this boy a chance. I must tell you from the bottom of my heart, This is the most important event of the year for me personally, that I've ever been involved with.
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
I've never met a finer group of people gathered under one roof, for such a noble cause.
Thank You
Thanks Larry!
The St Judes auction is by far the most important event that I don't miss year after year. Everyone wins during this time!!!!And I am So VERY proud to see each year the amounts just increase....along with the friendships made. :archer:
Wait till you see what Larry's alligator quiver brings!
Well said. I look forward to this event every year aswell.
Much like Bowferd I too have a strong connection with this event. My daughter Emily was born blind from a condition called Peter's Anomoly. It's a very rare condition that prevents the Corneas from developing correctly. Since her first cornea transplant at 3 months old she has had 17 surgeries and numberous exams under anesthesia. She is now 2 1/2 years old and is seeing very well considering. Her doctors say they wouldn't believe it if they didn't see it. It breaks my heart to know that as bad as we have had it there are children going through much more difficult times.
The generosity of these fine folks here at Tradgang is amazing and the annnual St. Judes auction and Bob W's running campaign is proof that there still are some good people left in this world.
My hats off to all of you. :clapper:

Bring it, big boy! :D
I really think this is a great idea! I have my own "did you know" from St Jude. Did you know those kids know more about CBCs, cell counts, spinal taps, and bone marrow transplants than any adult patient I have ever had? I did a month rotation there and was impressed by so much. I came away from that experience with two important themes 1. These kids are the bravest people on the planet 2. I am not that tough. God Bless 'em and I can't wait to see how much money Tradgang can raise for them!
Gregg,
I didn't buy a hunt at PBS=$$$$$
I sold 4 rental houses last month=$$$$$
I'm not participating in the cookie wars=$$$$$
There's no way a cracker from Florida is gonna take that quiver home!
Thanks for taking this on Larry!!! :readit: :campfire:
I Agree that St. judes is a Very Worthy Charity, and am Proud to have Participated in the Auction, as Money Allowed.
I AM Anxious to Hear why it IS TradGangs Charity of Choice! Not to Knock any OTHER Fine Charities, and I have a Pretty Good Idea "WHY", but History is Always good to know!!
God Bless St. Judes, and God Bless TradGang!! :archer: :clapper:
