would love to see some pic's besides the ones on Jason's site and hear from those who have shot or owned a Kanati. look like a great bow to me but as allways would love to hear from those who have owned them! thanks,
Ken
Oh no....this can't lead to anything good!!!!!
Ken you need to budget yourself LOL. It's not even May yet!
Then again doesn't hurt to look :bigsmyl:  :wavey:
just LOOKING!!! that can't hurt unless the wife catches ya looking!!!!!
Ken,
Here are a few pictures of my black glass with rosewood colored Kanati. I have had Grifins and Shrews. They are all nice bows but this one you can actually order and receive inside of a year and it shoots every bit as nice. The price is right and the quality is great. jwingman

nice bow!! thanks for sharing!! is the grip very similiar to a Shrew? i liked a small, dished grip and thats what it looks to be to me am i right?
I had a Kanati in my herd for a bit. It was light for me and I traded it off, but I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another. Very well crafted, tp level performance and no bad habits. I tend to prefer a more traditional style longbow, but I do find the short highly D/R style to be a great hunting tool. Clearly one of the best bow values available.
Cant really answer much about the bows (mine isnt here yet), but I can that Jason is a very good guy to deal with. Always gets back to you if you call, answers questions with some thought and interest.
Kanati is top knotch.
Jason Kendall is top knotch as well. I bought a used one that he is currently doing some work on for me, and I can tell he is all round good guy who stands by his product.
They are whisper quiet, and great feeling in the hand. Guarantee I will have another 1 or two of these in my arsenal in the next couple years.
Buy one, you won't regret it.
Matt
wow, just checked out their website, never seen em before, really nice looking bows.
I'm on the list for one also, Jason is a great guy to deal with. Topnotch
Ken,
I find the grip to be very similar to the Griffin and Shrew. If you want it to feel even more like them, just put a leather grip on it. It fits the hand well and it a very comfortable grip. That is what makes the bow a great fit for me. The grip and the comfort of it is high on my satifaction score. I love the forward handle and the way it points. Jwingman

I would say after owning several of both Kanati's and Shrew'sthat the handles differ in many ways. The kanati was thinner at the throat, and felt like a slimmer palm swell and the shrew has a little bigger in both areas, but both are extremely comfortable.
Ya mean to tell me, only one person has pics!? :D Come on, lets see some more. This is a very nice looking bow and I too would like to see some different wood combos.
I regret getting rid of mine!!
Here's a couple pics of mine. It's a 60 inch bow, 50# @ 28 inches; it has the Walnut finish on the handle, and clear glass. It's a very well behaved bow that's easy (and a boatload of fun) to shoot, and to shoot well. I'm shooting an 11gpp arrow out of it, it's faster than I expected (no chrono, just my impression and comparing it to other bows) and it's whisper quiet.

Yep really nice bows. I had one and loved it. I sold it to buy my Hoots. Ben just traded his Mon River for one. Should be here today or tomorrow.
Here's the Hoots. Might want to consider one of these bro.

The Yellow bow is an older Kabekona I once built for G&M Archery. Not a Kanati
sjlutz- the one i have ordered is just like yours but with black glass. Think i may go 55# but not sure yet, may go #50, have a month or so to decide.
Jason,
are the grips similiar from the Kanati and the Kabekona? a buddy has a Kabehona that i can shoot today or tomorrow. also got your email and will get back to you within 2 days about the August deadline.
Brian,
LOVE the Hoot's bro!!!!!
Yep, the grips on the standard Kanati are a little smaller and shaped a little more, but I can leave them bigger if you prefer it.
This is the 1st I've seen or heard of these bows, I love the way they look though, like a Centaur and a Shrew mated, lol.
Ken-
I love mine! I feel like I can not make a bad shot with it no matter what arrows I use. I take it small game hunting w/ a quiver full of mis-matched arrows and they all fly true. If turkey was not next week, I would send you mine to try for a week or two. Will try to get some pics up if photobucket will load. I have some pics on my FB page as well.

Niiice!
Really comfortable looking grip, and good job on the photos. I think Jason should use your photos on his website! Bet it's a sweet shooter.
What lengths do the Kanati's come in?
Mine is a 56", I believe they come in 58" and 60" as well.
Katie, whats the specs on your bow?
Katie,
I might have run from that Fox Squirrel!Yikes! Good shootin'.
I see a Kanati in my future.
Ron W.- My Kanati is 56" 52#@28"
tarponnut- It took 2 arrows to bing that squirrel down :)
Hey Ken
Iv got a Kanati that Jason Built for that i will be hunting with this year, Really really love the bow.
Light, fast, dead in the hand and very quiet.
for me its a perfect Hunting bow, very maneuverable in any hunting situation.
And to top it off Jason is a great guy, takes pride in his work and will go out of his way to help out
Andy,

Ken, I just build simple bows, nothing really fancy and at what I feel is a fair price. They arent for everyone but lucky for me there are those who do like them.
They are great looking bows, I would like to see some pics of the limb tips...PR

Pretty bows everyone!
Handled a used Kanati at the Kalamazoo show this past winter and loved the feel of this bow. Handled many different bows at the show but only three felt great in the hand. The Used Kanati, a Widow PLX with the old syle LAG type grip, and a Zipper SXT with 62" Longbow limbs. Was able to shoot the other two bows and ordered a SXT with 64" limbs. Cannot wait to shoot the Kanati. The craftsmanship is very precise. Jason, please come to Kalamazoo next year so we can try your bows. Definately appears to be very good bows at a great prices.
Here is my bow sorry the pics do not do it justice
The bow is 60" 73lbs @ 28 1/2" im shooting 900-920gr arrows and its smoking fast.

The first one fell to my 46# Kanati. The second fell to my son's 51# Kanati.
Here's some more.
46# @ 28", 58", walnut Dymondwood riser, clear glass over amberboo...sweetest shooting bow I've ever shot! It blows arrows right through whitetails!
52# @ 28", 58", walnut Dymondwood riser, clear glass over camo veneers...this one is a screamer! It's for stuff bigger than whitetails. It also looks way cool!
Here's a couple of my son Dave's Kanati. It is 51# @ 28" and 58" long, camo riser and vertical camo veneers...a cool looking bow! It's also the bow he killed the big buck up above with...complete pass-through and arrow stuck in the ground!

My cousin also has one of Jason's early pre-Kanati, longbows. He has taken deer, bear, and elk with his.
My family, as you can tell, is sold on Jason's bows. I will echo what others have said, Jason and his bows are both top of the line. What Jason calls a simple bow, is quite honestly, a hunter's bow. The non-glare finish, the speed, silence, accuracy, and handy size make his Kanatis a best buy. I have owned and shot a lot of bows, but have found none better. You could spend a lot more, but you won't have any better bow, IMHO!
i don't need to hear any more (would love more pic's!!) as i have allready contacted Jason to get the ball rolling on bring a Kanti to the great Adirondacks!!!!!
You won't be disappointed!
Smartest move you've ever made!
Let us know what you decided to go with!
i love the looks of the "evergreen" with clear glass. was thinking #45@28, should be smooth yet strong enough for deer.
Can't wait to see it. Ben's Kabekohhna(?) came today. Man what a nice bow! Love Jason's bows!
Ken,
45# will be plenty for deer! My 46# zips an arrow through so fast you'd better not blink! At 22 yards, I put a Zwickey Delta through that 8 pointer and into the frozen ground as slick as you please. My arrow setup weighed 510 grains total with 24.6 percent FOC. I draw 28" and the Kanati is smooth as butter. Evergreen is really close to what Dave's riser is. I like it! You are going to love the Kanati!
Russ
whats the current wait time? and how well do they perform at short draw lengths? i know one thing, they sure are nice looking:)
Good thing Ken, I cant wait to see how beautiful these things are. Unless everyone here is a liar you'll be pleased.
ok i am now on the list!!!! Jason is a pleasure to deal with as he has answered my questions both by pm's, email and phone. going to go with a 48@28 "evergreen" with amberboo limbs. 56 inches. looking at Augustfor delivery date as we speek.
It will be sweet!
 :clapper:
30coupe,
now ya KNOW we need to hear the stories behind those deer!!! well done my friend!
Does this mean I get my Kabekona back????? Or not yet!
That's a nice bow Ron. I'm kinda partial due to shooting it so well at my first meeting.
bmb-I draw 23" with my Kanati. No problems!
USPS attempted to deliver a *new* KANATI to my house today. (It's the lefty in Jason's picture up above.)
Unfortunately, no one was home to receive it.
Hopefully, by this Friday I will be shooting some arras through it.
Shoot straight, Shinken
hey Shinken post some pics and a quick review if you have time.

They are beautiful bows and everyone seems to like/love them. Sorry to see that you don't ship to Canada. Be nice to see that change.

Ken, the site was workin' for me just a moment ago.

Good job resurrecting this thread! Julie with one of her 2! She's got a small hand and loves that the riser isn't huge and heavy. We've had quite a few and love them. snappy little shooters.

I really enjoy looking at pics of Jason's bows. I have one coming to my house on Monday, the one he had advertised in the Sponsor's section last week. Glad to hear the comments about small grips, I prefer those as well.
Matty, , how do you like that one with the camo lams?
Aside from the fact that they are smooth quiet with excellent fit and finish.......
Jason's a good egg.

they are the best bows that i have ever shot. and i have shot a bunch.
Gator and Rick, glad to hear comments like that.
